OK, im going to tell you all what i feel are the unanswered questions to the matrix reloaded
My basic theory is that Neo is basically an anti-virus program. The architect refers to 'his code' that they require from the one in the TV room. I think that the code for the antivirus program is passed along in a human from generation to generation, until the oracle decides that it is time for the one to be awoken because there is a new virus threatening the system. The oracle knows this because she wouldnt be much of an oracle if she couldn't predict the coming of a new virus. They keep the anti virus code in the human population because thats the only way to make sure that it is kept secure from the virus because people can't be infected with computer viruses. This would explain his five predecessors because virus software is constantly being upgraded. However, the program Smith has grown so out of control that he controls the sentinels and the other agents in the system. This is the only possible explanation for why the system is trying to kill the rebels and wanting to kill the keymaker. The architect needs for the keymaker to stay alive and uninfected because he is the means for the one to make it to the source. As for the Merovingian, he is most likely the first anti virus program. I say this because when he was used to stop the virus, and they created a new anti virus program after he stopped the first virus, they tried to delete him but he retreated to the matrix to stay alive, then since he knows all about what the purpose of the one is, thats why he keeps the keymaker hostage. This would mean that Persephone has to be the mother of the matrix because the architect states that 'she investigated stuff about the human psyche' and what does Persephone do all the time? Gets people to kiss her so she can sample love, she does this because love is so strange and foreign to a machine/computer prgram that she tries to learn about it. she also is obviously very powerful because that is the only way to explain why the merovingian's men let her live after she sold them out by giving away the keymaker. if i were the merovingian i would have had them light her up, but he knows that she is much more powerful than he is
this would mean that zion is kept alive on purpose because the machines could have killed them at any time, but they are spared because they need a crop of humans kept alive in case of total system failure within the matrix. this would more or less be another system of control, where the residents of zion are actually prisoners, theyre just unconcious of it. just like when they were in the matrix. this would explain all the mysterious talks about 'choice', about how choice is really an illusion and everything that neo has done so far has been guided. "Just another measure of control."
So smith gained control of the agents in the system by copying himself into one of the agents, he then gained control of the other agents. he has control of the sentinels becuase that's the only way to explain how bane was left alive after they massacred the crews of the five downed hovercrafts. How could they possibly overlook one person? its the only way for me to make sense of it.
So then to explain how neo stopped the sentinels when he was in the real world, neo has part of smith inside of him (according to smith himself), so if smith is really in control of the system's sentinels, then he would definitely be able to feel them, through whatever part of smith got copied onto neo. so it only makes sense since neo and smith do seem to be very similar in these movies, that they share similar powers. this is also paralelled by how neo has gained power in the matrix like smith, and smith has gained power in the real world through taking over bane. hopefully this will make a little sense to some of you, feel free to edit whatever part of my theory makes sense to you, or tell me why im totally wrong.
