»Importance of Morpheus's prophecy«

I think the importance of Morpheus's prophecy isn't discussed enough..although Neo say's it's a lie, the prophecy is important. Why?

Well where did the prophecy come from? Well think about, if Neo decides to reboot the Matrix, and chooses 23 people to start over again, what's the best way of giving the next Matrix the ability to eventually defeat the machines? most obvious Answer: to pass the story on, aka a PROPHECY, So people in the new matrix know what they must do.

So morpheus's prophecy originated from the PREVIOUS "ONE's" directions, which are supposed to be followed by the present Matrix.

this is quite interesting, because Morpheus's prophecy directly relates to what the previous "one" thinks they should do.

I think you’ve made a slight error; the prophecy is made by Morpheus but is from the oracle that is of course a program.

Each time a Matrix is made because it is not 100% perfect but 99% (due to free will which may not truly exist???) or what ever that small at least initially insignificant 1% creates as the architect rambles on to say the otherwise contradictory systemic anomaly.

Morpheus is clearly used by the matrix to find the one, train him in a kind of Yoda type fashion. Although the Matrix would have already known who he was from the beginning.

However I’m not clear on what Neo’s true purpose is, maybe just to give those in Zion some kind of hope even if it’s a possible false hope.
