How much does Linux cost?

It costs precisely as much less as vista costs. 0.

I've been using linux for a year now, and when i switched back to windows i felt like i've went back into my little pod in the matrix.

You should try it out, altho it takes a while to get used to it, it's worth it.
I reccommend debian for beginners, and slackware or something like that for experienced.

If u want to be free or at least more than u are or at least some sort of illusion, then u should use linux Smile))

EDIT:

I've never bought windows so i wouldn't know

heh me neither but you don't actually have to pay for it.. if someone else borrows u the cd.

and evil windows " part of thematrix" has wiped out my linux at least 6 times.
like the matrix overwriting something.
(ok this is getting a lil off topic ;P)

Everyone would be surprised if u found out the true evilness of microsoft. It is not quite the matrix but it could resemble it perfectly.

and about linux gaming sucks:

maybe the games suck, but try windows games with a windows running inside linux. it's a lot faster and you actually know what it's doing.

you can do ANYTHING with linux, literally.
(If you only have the skill and the software.)

(sorrysorry it is off topic i know this is not a place for discussing operating systems.) ;P

Emulating a windows environment to play a windows game at linux will never be as fast as the real thing. Anyway as I said before I use both. End of off topic post people! Moderator alert

Zion:

it is free will - what does that mean it means that the zoinites have freedom of self determination action independent of external causes.

How about the cycle of deleting its inhabitant for an external cause? And how about the "war" itself as another?

Quote:

it means hope - that one day the war will truely end and that they can live a normal existance of life. and not have to live a lie in a computer generated dream world.

What if Zion's so-called freedom is a lie that is only believed between resets?

Quote:

it's freedom - what does that mean it means a condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints.

Then how come you have 6 different sets of people who have never met, yet make the same decisions over and over again?

Quote:

you asked me what zion mean to me, and i will tell you, it is the truth, it is a place were you can be who you want to be, say what you want to say, were everyone is equal, that is true freedom.

I agree with this one. Zion is closer to the truth. But truth and freedom are not necessarily the same thing.

But the more you define freedom, the more it seems Zionites don't have it. And it seems that the level of freedom is actually about the same as inside the matrix.

I agree with this. Zion may be closer to being outside of Plato's cave, but if the ideal is to be completely outside the cave, then Zion falls short. It is only because of Neo and the ending of the cycles can Zion really and truly begin to crawl out of the cave and perhaps see some real daylight. Except for that lousy scorched sky, of course. If only someone knew how to control the weather...

well they must have had something to get the clear sky back, right? but it would be rather hard if there is no air at the surface.. is there? because everything is dead and there is no sunlight..

Edit: but they still walked there outside @ M3.. so how is that possible?
