what is meant by "return to the source"? what is the source? and what would u do if you were there?

Nobody knows what the source is. Probably the mainframe. Or maybe the city 01.

I realised a couple of days ago that the god/creator/heaven thing in David Gemmel's novels of the Drenai is also called The Source.
Of course I've known this for ages but I only just made the connection.

Isn't the Source of the Matrix some kind of machine heaven?

Has anyone read any of David Gemmel's novels? Are there any correlations?


Is the Oracle the eyes of the thirty?
Trinity the Heart?
Morpheus the Soul?
Perhaps Neo is the equivalent of Temple in Legend (When the Thirty combine into one)
Who then would be the voice?
