»What OS?«

I wonder what OS the matrix was built on? For bein up for that many years, and not crashing, it surely can't be windows.

This question is purely comedy, after thinking so much, you gotta have some fun.

They talk about shells in the movies. The most stable and secure shells can be established with Unix.

So is the matrix open source, or is it the private property of Microsoft, err, the machines lol...

Then again, the source didn't seem to be open, you needed that key hehe.

I think UNIX or the OS LINUX...windows sucks.

I think that the matrix OS is one evolution based on the preexisting code of the first AI program made to be built on the machine´s brain ( btw, they´re so stupid for not putting there the ASIMOV´s robotic laws so the machines didn´t go rogue...)

I'd make the same comparison, but based on other attributes - solid business sense, ability to get what he wants, and desire to absorb his competitors.

Steve Jobs / Mac, on the other hand, is like Agent Smith - he wants to turn everyone else in the world into a clone of himself.

Windows is like the Matrix - Microsoft tried to make the perfect OS the first time around (DOS), but people rejected it, so they made something crappy because people like problematic things. Now the whole world is trapped inside it.

Unix is like the first 5 Ones - it has good intentions and true power, and has had many forms (unix, aix, bsd, etc. etc.), but ultimately failed anyway for unexplained reasons.

Linux is like Neo - it is based upon a good thing (Unix) and will fulfill its destiny by making the world realize that the Matrix (Windows) sucks and that they are bound by it. But it (Linux) will ultimately just kill Smith (Mac) in the process and everyone will go back to the Matrix and be happy.

And...Transio...you mean that knowledge is inversely proportional to creativity?...take a look at Geoff Darrow´s
work. He´s an Industrial Engineer, as the guy who designed all the stuff of ALIENS (the second film), I think knowledge makes your creativity more credible.(In fact I love engineering and also I am so creative !)
