Does anyone else think that there is a definate group, who want to show us the "true meaning behind all of this" When it comes to Matrix Philosophy?

and the most dangerous thing I have seen over several websites is the amount of christians who try to impose their dogma upon these films and the philosophy behind them.

Some_People_Aren't_Interested_In_Christianity. No matter how you want to paint it.

Whilst I do not deny that there are definate comparisons to be drawn to deity figures, some people just see it as a reason to preach a certain dogma, open your mind guys, its not as black and white as that.

Sorry, got annoyed, Rant over.

There are definitely theological concepts behind the matrix. However, as a student of theology myself I am very interested by the way The Matrix seems to intentionally cover many different religious concepts including atheism! (Nietzschean atheist concepts like 'eternal recurrence' and "the superman" are clearly shown in The Matrix and Reeves was asked to read Nietzsche when they were working on the sequels).

You can't ignore the theological concepts, but if you are going to try to suggest that one religious interpretation of the movie is better than another then you have missed the point entirely.

The problem with the sequels is that it felt mostly christian metaphor based. Of course, I noticed the greek and hindu metaphors, they just are really, REALLY hard to find compared to the ease of finding Christian metaphors.

to some they are 'christian' metaphors only because they have been conditioned to see it as a christian metaphor. this goes for all the other religious/belief system propaganda in the films. ALL religions including christianity,hindu,buddhism,judaism,etc.. take their ideas and beliefs from pre-religion archetypes and concepts based on early humans exploring perception and reality.
