Hell yeah! That third pic is of my favorite scene the Burly Brawl. And the first pic is where Neo became the 'One'.

Wow, thanks for sharing those!

Have a simple question and I'm not sure if you can answer them or not due to the non-disclosure agreement. But, in the game can another human player just attack you at random? Or do they have to challenge you first and if you accept then you'll brawl? Also, does the story vary a lot depending on the side you choose to affiliate yourself with? (Machines, Zion, Merv)

Well, those pics look good and I'm sure the graphics will be even sharper when the finished product comes out.

they lifted the non-disclosure agreement.

the answer to your question...no, you cannot be attacked at random from another player. the only things in the game that you can attack at random are the non-playable characters such as exiles. and, likewise, they are the only things that can attack you at any given time. other players, however, cannot...the only way to fight another player is for one player to request a duel that you both have to agree to.

BUT, this is for Mega City. there are areas that the rules are void....the constructs. in those areas you, and every other player, is open to attack from anyone. but you have to be at a certain level before you can get in to one. and there are different constructs for different levels (like one for characters who are level 15-20 and another for level 20-25 and so on)...so that it is somehwat fair.

but as far as being in the city, doing a mission, exploring, whatever, you do not have to worry about other players jumping you. just exiles...and if you are in a restricted area...agents.

as far as the story goes, the deeper you go into the game the more of the story you will know/learn. and since you will be on a certain side, im assuming that you get their side of the story. i havent made it far enough to get the "story missions" yet...those are the ones that reveal more of the story. for right now, where i am at, since i am a low character, i am pretty much a soldier, and i do simple tasks for whatever group i chose. (i chose zion for right now, im curious)

in the future, if you are high enough you have a chance to affect the story. there will be movies, a comic (i think) in which you just might get to be featured in it. (this is what i understand from things that i have read)

Thanks a lot for answering those questions. Now I'm pretty excited about this game and can't wait to get it. Also I'll probably choose Zion at first just to see if I can learn anything about what happened right after the end of Revolutions but in the end I'll probably switch to Mervs side Twisted Evil

I just hope they don't drag the missions and take forever to give new parts of the story so after a year of playing the game you only get 15% or so of the story lol Wouldn't want to pay $15 a month for two years hehehe But I'm sure they will offer a package if you buy a year subscription you'll get a discount.

Is Mr. Jones there AI or a player controlled entity? What did you do that caused him to appear?

all the agents are AI, and to make him show up, i went into a restricted area...downtown. when you first start certain areas of mega city are off-limits and if you spend too much time in them, an agent will track you down and kill you. as your level gets higher you have access to more areas.

but honestly, you wouldnt really want to go in the restricted areas early on, the exiles in those areas are leveled very high. but then again, there are certain things there that you will probably want/need. i made that mistake my very first time to play...got curious, took a subway to downtown, got out and was killed within a minute. there are some things that you can do to lower the chance of an agent coming after you in the restricted areas.

another sure fire way to make an agent come after you is, if you are in a mission, and you abort it, or you finish it, and you hang around in the mission area for too long, they will come after you.

Why is going downtown (in and of itself) worthy of an Agent's appearance? So it looks like the truce is off, eh?

well the truce is on, just kinda...whats the word...its like a cold war type thing. we have freedom in the matrix, but limited freedom.

the higher your level gets the more access you have.

So is it true you have to pay a monthly fee to play this game?

Revolution is the birth of equality and the antithesis to oppression...

yeah, thats the downside. i think you get the first month free (the month you buy it) and after that its $15 just like some other MMORPGs. i have tried to think of a way to justify it and all i can come up with is: the money goes towards making the game better, updates, patches, additions and so on, the game will grow in the future.

and another way i have justified it is if you spread it out in a 30 day month, its .50 c-e-n-t-s a day...kinda like an arcade...i guess...

thats less than the cost of a cup of coffee a day! what a deal! ! !

Shit man, I mean I got loans to pay and such, on top of other bills, so $15 can go a long way sometimes, but that kinda sucks.

Also, I don't know what MMORPG stands for, anyone care to tell me (besides the role playing game part?)

Can you go in every building or are some just for looks? Is the city crowded with bluepills? Many screens I've seen so far make it look pretty vacant.

What I heard was that the game development was taking so long because it was so labor intensive to make it so specific. So players can go and explore every little detail, enter just about every room on every floor of every building. This was done so you can explore all aspects of the city and make the game more fun.

Great at least now we know for sure that Sati controls the sun. I always suspected it was her who brought the Sun out at the end of Revolutions and that was her purpose. While a lot of people on here were saying that she did not have a purpose in the Matrix.

Also I don't mind paying a monthly fee as long as the game is good. Just don't go out one Friday night and you're set.

Oh, and Allone since you played the Beta what do you think is the best skill to learn? Do you think it's better to have a mix of decent martial arts skills and gun fighting skills and hacking? Or to Master just one skill like Aikido, Kung Fu or to be a Master Marksman?

Is the Megacity shaped like the glyph, is there a city map w/ districts/locales or anything cool? (above and beyond what's found in the guide at matrixonline.com

that all depends.

there are three sections to the ability tree. coder, hacker, and operative. all have strong points and also weak points.

coder:

hacker:

operative:
Click and double-click to resize image

there are many sub-abilities that are not shown in those pictures.

it depends on if you are going to try and play solo or not. if you go solo, like i have been doing, then you will almost have to go down the operative path. i was going down the coder path, but got sick and tired of getting my ass handed to me in almost every mission. so i changed and went down the operative path and am currently working on kung fu grandmaster. i am kinda partial to kung fu since i took it growing up. there are other options in the operative path: you can go with or with firearms, gunslinger, karate grandmaster and so on.

so yeah, if you are going to be flying solo, then you will almost have to go operative, in my opinion. if you are in a group, there would still have to be a fighter, but you could be a hacker who does healing and so on. pretty much someone to do every job.

you have so much memory for things that you can load into your brain. i have been playing around with different abilities, trying to find a balance of things that i like. but, if you ever want to change something, you can always just take out a program and load another one in, as long as you have it.

there are a lot of different abilities and jobs that you can choose. check this place out:
thematrixonline.warnerbros.com...

it explains the ability trees and different disciplines.

thats a good site, too, for a lot of other info, have a look around.

i dont know who that first guy is, guess i havent made it that far...have only been testing for a little over a month now.

no problem on sharing the screenies, i have wanted to since i started, but couldnt because of the NDA.

as far as enjoying it...i am very much so! for me, it is worth the money. like i pointed out earlier, if you divide the monthly cost into a 30 day month its only .50 a day, so i am going to stop drinking my $1 soda every morning, haha.

its a very neat game and the concept behind it is awesome, i think i saw someone say in a review for it in the matrix box set something like, "its a way to bring the matrix to the fans, to put them in it" or something like that...and it is.

for a huge matrix fan, i highly recommend it! Thumbup
