In Dr Who Season 14 - Series The Deadly Assassin (1976) The Doctor (Tom Baker) is summoned to Galifrey home of the Time Lords.

Tracking The Master to the main computer of the Time Lords The Doctor puts on a head set and enters the computer.

The massive computer that controls all aspects of the Time Lords technology contains the gentic code and complete history of every time lord and Tardis (time travel machines) in history. It is a living environment that can be manipulated by those expereinced enough to do it. Upon entering the computer The Doctor is attacked by The Master using a range of different assaults all conjured up to make the doctor beleive in their existence. After a prolonged battle inside the computer The Doctor Triumphs by using his will power to deny the existence of the Masters Attacks.

That doesn't mean anything that being called the Matrix. The definition of matrix is as follows: a mold in which type or other matter in relief is shaped or cast. The other meaning and probable the movie meaning: (computer) a table of variables. I interpret that means equations, math problems that have to be solved.

If I would have just read my thread Id prolly think there was nothing in it to. You need to watch the episode to see that it lays out the entire basic concepts of the first movie and the main ideas in it.

As a huge fan of both the Matrix and the Wachowski Brothers I have been in awe of their imagination. However it doesnt take even a tiny leap of imagination to go from this Episode of Dr Who to the fisrt movie's storyline.

If I was a Hollywood Director looking for inspiration for Sci Fi an obscure English Sci Fi camp drama from 25 years ago is probably where I would start looking too.
