»pessimistic or optimistic view about technology?«

As they quote Baudrillard, the directors seem to accept a pessimistic view about technology and particularly about virtual reality; actually I think they are closer to more optimistic points of view, as that of Derrick De Kerchkove; Apart from Baudrillard, does anyone find other connections to other phylosophers that wrote about technology?
