Ultimate Matrix DVD running order

Hi,
I just ordered the DVD box set and would like to know in which order should I watch the Animatrix episodes, Movies and Enter The Matrix scenes?

I know some scenes in the Animatrix and Enter The Matrix act as prequels to scenes in the movies. So, I wondered what to do about the running order of the scenes to get the best out of The Matrix.

Thanks,
Dogg.

I don't think it matters in which order you watch them. But if anything try watching "The Second Renaissance Pt. 1" then "The Second Renaissance Pt. 2," "Kid's Story" and "Final Flight of the Osiris." The rest of the episodes don't matter which order you watch them in.

And the Enter the Matrix scenes are all in order so you can just watch them consecutively. Hope this helps.

I think it DOES matter

The matrix

The Animatrix
(the important episodes are:
Final Flight Of The Osiris
The Second Renaissance (I and II)
Kid's Story)

It is probably best to watch Final Flight Of The Osiris LAST since it leads directly onto Enter The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded

Matrix Reloaded

Next watch Enter The Matrix scenes. (or preferably PLAY Enter The Matrix)

Matrix Revolutions

I'm just saying I don't think it matters as long as you see the Animatrix and then Enter the Matrix between The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded.

Actually I played Enter The Matrix before seeing Reloaded and I found it to be a mistake. It reveals far too much in advance.

Animatrix should be before Reloaded because it keeps the mystery. "Enter The Matrix" needs to be imbetween Reloaded and Revolutions....

Yeah you're right it's true - I felt the same way. Good point.

I made my own running order for the 10 dvds in the box set, its split into 22 parts. I recommend that you follow this order for The Animatrix and Enter The Matrix scenes:

(these are taken off my running order, arranged differently to what you have requested)

- Second Renaissance Part I then Part II

- The Matrix

- Program

- World Record

- Beyond

- Detective Story

- Matriculated

- Kid's Story

- The Final Flight Of The Osiris

- Enter The Matrix scenes 1-11, 13-15

- The Matrix Reloaded

- Enter The Matrix scenes 12, 16-23

- The Matrix Revolutions

I havent made it this far down my list yet , but I did take a quick look at the begining of each ETM scene to varify an order. I tried to add those that take place before and during Reloaded first before watching Reloaded. Then the ones that go into Revolutions before watching Revolutions. I dont know if this is what your looking for, but this is the way Im going to watch them. I do strongly recommend my Animatrix order though.

Lol, yeah. You should see the rest of my list. The reason why I decided to set up the dvds in a certain order, was to make the box set more interesting and appealing to me. Plus, I kinda didnt like the way Warner Bros. arranged the whole thing.

Lol, I was going to post it before. Thing is I included EVERYTHING thats in the box set. That includes all 41 tracks on The Matrix Revisited to all the stuff in The Zion Archive. But just out of "hoo-haas" here it is.

**Just wanted to let you guys know, I like watching the behind the scenes stuff and commentary before watching any film, that I have already seen. I dont recomend this to anyone who hasnt seen any of the actual films (in there full length), but because I have seen them so many times before in the past, it works for me.**

b. The Philosophy

II. Zion Archive
a. Archive

III. The Matrix Revisited

There it is. Like I said, this is just something I came up with that fitted my format in which I watch films. If I never seen, for example the first matrix, obviously it would be better to watch it before anything else. To some of you, it might seem kinda stupid to listen to all the tracks on Matrix Revisited, but thats the way I did it.

For the archive (number II) I just went throught all the stuff in order: started with storyboards and ended with settings. I did the same for other sections, just went with what ever is on top of the list (example: on the revisited stuff, I just started from the first one then went on).

[Please do not disparage me, Im too weak and fragile from staying up many long nights.] Cool
