I'm not trying to argue with you, I just ask this question in general.

If the game is made for three different systems then there is a larger market and thus room for a lot more profit, so although the quality, and gamepay would be a lot better if they focused on one system why not sacrifice that for more money? I mean they can just delay the game a bit more if they want to emphasize graphics and gameplay. Besides nowadays unless a game is a franchise game like Super Mario Bros., Zelda or Halo, games are likely to come out for every system.

I just don't see that happening, it just wouldn't make much sense from my point of view.

That suckes ass. I have an xbox and I really liked ETM. The full pontential of a system? If they want that, why not choose xbox? Xbox has way more power than the ps2. So if they want to make the game as good as possible, please let them choose xbox Confused and ignorant

I'm sorry you got the impression that I thought you were arguing with me. Smile

In theory, you're absolutely correct -- and hence the reason why ETM was a multi-system game. However, I'm not entirely sure if it has worked out that way in practice; I'm not sure that the Prince of Persia games, for example, ended up selling well enough on the Xbox and GCN to warrant their development and release. That's something I'm going to have to look into.

Maybe, at the end of the day, in Shiny's particular case, the extra effort -- development time, marketing, etc. -- wasn't worth it...

A-fucking-men. If it worked for the mother of all movie-to-game translations -- GoldenEye 007 -- then it should work for "The Matrix," as well, another easily identifible property. I wish more publishers would follow this train of thought.

Unless, of course, Shiny wants the game to ship before the PS3 releases.

If presented between multiple consoles, a publisher/developer will always pick the one that will grant them access to the biggest audience -- unless, of course, the console manufacturer were throwing in some extra money on the deal (as what happened with Nintendo and Capcom for [the now defunct] Resident Evil exclusivity). Such is the way of business, unfortunately.

Some people would like to play Neo, Morpheus, Trinity, etc., but I am interested in the idea to play a follower of one or another famous hero, just like Kid for Neo.

Neo, the Chose One, has gone [into the heaven of the Matrix, what, according to the Book, means, that he REALLY IS ALIVE with us now and till the end of the Matrix].

Now it's time for his followers to continue his mission.

Remember, Neo fought for truth and freedom. He won. And Architect agreed to free those "slaves" who would like to be free. How do you think, what would happen, if those "slaves" would be told that thay are not free (as they suppose)? What would happen, if some VIPs of the Matrix (like Merovingian) wouldn't like the idea to let them free? What would happen, if not everybody in the Zion would believe that Neo had brought them freedom, but had simply died and the Matrix used his death just as another trick to establish another level of control over them?

---

And about the systems, consoles, etc. Would you like the idea if the new Matrix game would come on two platforms: Windows and Linux? I mean Windows one would be the Matrix and Linux one -- a free world... It would come in one package. On the Windows one you would learn how to migrate from the Matrix, I mean Windows, to Linux. And when you are ready (pass the real exams), you may try to dedicate a partition of your HDD or whole PC for the Linux part of the game, which would come in form of special Linux distribution called something like "Matrix AI"...

After all, based on experience from the real world I dare to conclude, that the idea of any game is to learn new things and gain new experience, not jus have some worthless fun. Would you like such a game with opportunity to gain REAL knowledge and REAL experience while having fun playing it?

P.S. Sorry for my poore English -- it's not my mother-tongue. And the bier is doing its "dark" job too.... ;)

Good points all around.

P.S. What I meant to say is not to take what I was about to say as an attack. Whitelaugh
