-Is There Ever Gonna Be Another Matrix Video Game?

(they should make a game with neo, trinity and morpheus!, so dumb that you couldnt play as any of them, but awesome game!)

I wish THere Was Another MOVIE!

P.S

There will be a video game named Matrix Online but there won't be another movie.

Animatrix Renaissances were important, rest is only action.

Welcome...to the real world...

1.) There aren't going to be any more "Matrix" films.

2.) There are at least three more "Matrix" videogames in the works: Monolith is doing The Matrix Online, an MMORPG which will release in March or April for the PC (if they don't push it back yet again); and Shiny, the developer of Enter the Matrix, has a contract to do two more console games, one of which may or may not come out for the current genereation of systems and one which will definitely come out for the next generation.

3.) The Wachowskis would absolutely love to do another volume of Animatrix episodes; let's see if they can pull it off.

4.) You have it backwards: only two were less than good; the rest were extremely well done.

These two are the part of the story.Others are only action and unnecessary and not written by Wachowskis.

Besides the fact that you are wrong, I would like to point out that you have no grounds to make a comment one way or the other since you have yet to see them all.

"The others are only action and unnecessary and not written by the Wachowskis."

Again, you are wrong: the Wachowskis wrote *four* episodes, not two.

I'm not very good at writers neither script but Renaissances were telling the beginning of the Matrix story and they cannot be passed by, they are important.Others may be action may be important but not as vital as Renaissances.

"I'm not very good at either writers or scripts..."

Then why go around trying to make factual statements about them? Smile

"...but 'Renaissance' was telling the beginning of the 'Matrix' story, and it cannot be passed by."

To be picky, neither can "Kid's Story" and "Final Flight of the Osiris" (to get a complete and holisitic view of the saga).

"The others may be action and may be important, but are not as vital as 'Renaissance.' "

Again, since you haven't seen them, how can you definitively say? In point of fact -- and for example -- "Kid's Story" has certain implications, explanations, or echoes of what happens to Neo in "The Matrix Revolutions"...

I just understood that writers are important because I've just watched Program and Detective and I've seen once again that they are full of bullshit(not written by wskis).

But again, I'll continue looking for the disc to watch those two.

And by the way, is the real name of the kid "Kid" or he has any other name like "Neo" and "Trinity" names?

They're not full of bullshit per se, but you're absolutely correct in that they're not essential to the overall "Matrix" story. It's very much like The X-Files: you have mythology episodes -- those episodes that detail the overall storyline, or mythology, of the show -- and you have stand-alone episodes -- those episodes that have self-contained stories. "Program" and "Dectective Story" are both stand-alone episodes (although I really, really enjoy the atmosphere Watanabe creates in his short, and how he continues with the "Alice's Adventure in Wonderland" motiff).

Is this an opinions' or facts' board. It's really funny how people attack others over their opinions.

lol

True, most of this is speculation.
I read on some website that there is another Matrix video game being developed, even though the website looked suspect.

"Is this an opinions or facts board?"

Well, this *is* "The Matrix Explained"... it's whatever the grandiose webmaster deigns it to be.

El Escogido:

It's a *fact* that Shiny signed a contract to do three Matrix games, and it's a *fact* that we don't know which generation of systems (or which systems period, for that matter) they're coming out for.

We can get into a lengthy dissertation of the nature of opinions versus the nature of facts, if you like.

God knows this particular subject -- which I believe lies firmly in a branch of metaphysics -- is one which I can discuss for hours...

So if yuo're Neo in any of these games, it would be kind of pointless to play. No one could stand a chance against you.

Pretty much. Although it would be cool to have an unlockable "god mode" in which you could play as Neo and do whatever the hell you want...

Yeah that's true.

But if you could be Morpheus or Trinity, it would be cool. Also, if they had additional scenes to those in the movie like in Enter The Matrix, it would be good.

Rumor territory:

Last I heard, the next Shiny-developed game -- which we'll just call Enter the Matrix 2 from here on out -- is going to be another MMORPG, this time exclusively on the PS2 (and only the second game to require the hard drive). There are many facts leaning against this scenario, however: the HDD is as good as dead, seeing as how the newly redesigned "slim" PS2 doesn't support it; from what I understand, too many companies aren't keen on using the expensive (and mishandled) HDD, anyway; and The Matrix Online would prove to be some fierce competition.

Time will only tell, I suppose...

I disagree that Enter the Matrix 2 would be online - it would probably be mulltiformat and a similar format to the first one - just new story etc.

Why would they only make the game for one system? That doesn't sound right to me.

I have a feeling that when the Wachowskis try to make other movies, and realize that nothing compared to how much they made with the matrix, we will find a prequel on our hands.

Um... right.

El Escogido:

"Why would they only make the game for one system?"

Quite simply, ETM was extremely watered down so as to make it playable on all three consoles. If Shiny had focused its development on just one system, it could've maximized the potential of that system, delivering a game with stunning graphics and a consistently high framerate (although the game's flaws ran much more deeply than just those found in the appearance department). Coupled with the fact that the PS2 is, hands down, the most dominant of the consoles, thereby giving Shiny the potentially biggest financial gain, rumor has it that ETM2 will be available exclusively for Sony's system.

This part of the rumor I don't doubt, although I'd say there's a fairly good chance that the game will debut on the PlayStation 3 (hell, maybe as a launch title, in Q4 '06). Still, the MMORPG part rings kinda false in my ears -- although, if the PS3 does end up having a built-in hard drive as we all think it will, you never know...
