The answer to Smith's behavior before Neo jumped into him is the problem of choice.

So, the answer is a problem.
Not bad.
It is well known that the solution of a problem creates new problems.

"In humans, the emotions are not generated in the brain.
I mean, they are triggered by the brain, but their source is in the organs of the body.
If there is no body, there are no emotions. "

What're you crazi? The guy in the train station with the little girl even explained it, "love" is just a word, it's the meaning... It's all in teh brain...

emotions are chemical reactions happening in the brain...
Love is an emotion... Temporary insanity... Nothing more to it...

...Even machines can see that we are already dead...

Now that's my kind of humour. Wink

Omega, that reminds me of a Bush quote...

The man's logic is impecable.

On and on the rain will fall

On and on the rain will see
How fragile we are. How fragile we are.

It's not as simple as you believe it is Wink
We CAN NOT truly believe in anything we want.
Things we believe in are product of our experiences processed by probability and in some way affected by emotions inducting expectations.
You can DECLARE you believe in anything, but you REALLY believe something only when it's significantly affecting your perception, understanding of reality and capabilities.
This is why it's so hard to exceed your own limitations: you can usually do only what you believe you can do. And you don't REALLY believe you can do much more than you've already have done before.
That was reason, why it was so hard for Neo to gain skill exceeeding human limits he learned through his life as Mr. Anderson in M1.

Again, at some point, you'll end up beleiving what fits you, what suits you, what gives you a worm fuzzy feeling...
It is another issue entirely if you are honest with others and yourself.

So, you take his words for granted. Programmed by a Hollywood actor who plays the role of a software entity. Amazing.

The word "love" is just a word.

Words have different meanings in different contexts.
In that context, love was used to describe complex relations between two "programs". Human love involves physiological changes at least.

Do you have a neck?
The brain is kept alive by the rest of the body.
And all these beloved ideas of ours are not even vital.
If the brain stops generating them, the body can live on. Like in a coma, for instance.
But if the body stops living, the brain is dead.

Hope so. At least out of my mind. Smile

In my humble opinion,
Smith is/are the sum of all those voices in your head which say:
"I must look like everybody else. I must not behave weird. I must obey the laws, stay in line, do not upset the others, let the show go on..."

yeah, it's like a fuckin radio in your head sometimes.

Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies
So I don't know what's real and what's not
Always confusing the thoughts in my head
So I can't trust myself anymore. (evanescence)

..thats like when Smith sneaks into your head. Neutral

sometimes I listen to what people try to say
then when I tune in I think, no that's not the way

I seem to disagree. I think that Smith is that voice that tells you to rebel, to break the rules, to change the current social order... To escape from this zoo...
Maybe even to end your life with suicide...

I was compelled to stay, compelled to disobey

But, of course, you all think that Neo was Jesus and Smith was Antichrist, so there is nothing good about him or anything to learn from him...

::Cuts a hole in the blanket of generalisation and sticks head through.:: Quittit.

Incidentally, Evanescance fans, find 'My Last Breath' and imagine Trinity's death scene. It fits perfectly.

Quote:

"It ends here tonight"

"Are all my thoughts of you sweet rapture and light?"

"Hold on to me now / You know I can't stay long / All I wanted to say was 'I love you, and I'm not afraid'."

"Can you hear me? / Can you feel me in your arms?"

"I know you hear me / I can taste it in your tears"
