matriculate is all about brainwashing the enemy.
Whether the machines making the humans believe that they are in a real world or the Humans getting the Machines to serve them.

You can Convert some one from Christianity to Buddhism

Or Brainwash some one to believe your point of view

In war each side is the right way and the enemy is wrong.

Definition
matriculate be enrolled at a college or university : he matriculated at the University of Vermont.

admit (a student) to a college or university.

ORIGIN late 16th cent.: from medieval Latin matriculat- ‘enrolled,’ from the verb matriculare, from late Latin matricula ‘register,’ diminutive of Latin matrix.

We are brainwashed in schools.
We are told that the history they are telling us is correct.

Matriculate also means to indoctrinate.

Powerful name for that Animatrix episode, is it not?

Definition of Anagram
A word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of another word or phrase.

Neo= new

One= The One = God

Eon=an indefinite and very long period of time

Eon is also spelled Aeon = From the Gnostic Bible: a divine power or nature emanating from the Supreme Being and playing various roles in the operation of the universe.

In Gnosticism
The aeons often came in male/female pairs called syzygies, and were frequently numerous (20-30). Two of the most commonly listed æons were Jesus and Sophia. The aeons constitute the pleroma, the "region of light." The lowest regions of the pleroma are closest to the darkness — that is, the physical world.

When an æon named Sophia emanates without her partner aeon, the result is the Demiurge, or half-creator (Occasionally referred to as Ialdaboth in Gnostic texts), a creature that should never have come into existence. This creature does not belong to the pleroma, and the One emanates two savior æons, Christ and the Holy Spirit, to save humanity from the Demiurge. Christ then took the form of the human Jesus, in order to be able to teach humanity how to achieve gnosis; that is, return to the pleroma.

i understand this, but what about the ending, when the machine plugs the one girl in to communicate...he did that to have fun like they we're during the brainwashing

Sparks:"I know you don't care about your lives. But please try to think of something of meaning, like my life."
Ghost & Niobe:"Sparks, shut up."

The woman was just doing her job to Brainwash the Robot to switch over to her side.

It worked and the Robot fell in love with her and the Robot did not want her to die.

Same as V for Vendetta were Evey thinks that V is Nuts and tries to escape so V brainwashes her to see his point of view and in the process V falls in Love with Evey.

it's just the code you're seeing there, not necessarily the matrix as we know it today.

Stickin' with your story, eh.

Explain away:

1. The implants seem to indicate that their brains were plugged into something.

2. The ruins include a hovercraft complete with broadcasting antennae.

Now a real puzzler is why the machines have the physical means to jack in and how the humans know about it.

Well I'm trying Smile. I may be wrong, but let's play the devil's advocate to see if my hypothesis can stand.

I'm affraid I don't understand what you mean ? They have plugs in their heads, indeed, but my theory is that the humans first invented that technology for themselves.

Remember these hovercraft existed before the Second Renaissance and therefore can be prior to the Matrix. The antenna was probably there for communications between the various shuttles.

Watch it again : the technician is placing the plug on the head of the robot, it was not there initially.

Wich supports my theory : if indeed Matriculated is happening a short time after the machines won the war, then the robots we see there are those wich were built by humans and that's why they know them so well.
In the trilogy, we clearly see that the knowledge of how the machines work is not well-known by Zionnists.

----

Notice that :

1) they don't have holes on their body (just the neck), so they didn't wake up from the Matrix
2) in the ruins, many destroyed machines still have an electrical activity (after 6 centuries, their batteries should be dead)
3) their clothes are futuristic, unlike zionnists
4) the little animal has a plug too, and it seems that it was put there by the humans.

Neo:"there is no spoon"
Merovingian:"there is no lipstick!"

Edit by Apocryphe : there is no need to quote someone just after the post you're quoting, it makes it unnecessary long. Thanks.

Hmmm. All that seems in line with the meaning of the name of this episode. And it makes sense. Smile

Perhaps you should post more about it.

Glad to see you saw the light Whitelaugh

Well, I have said all I could find about Matriculated. I have a wild hypothesis that the robot we see at the end of Matriculated was the first one to fall in love, wich means that maybe it was the one who found later the solution of choice ?
Was it Persephone or Merv ?

Yes there is. It shows later readers what exactly I'm commenting on inasmuch as writers sometimes edit their posts later on. And, it cuts down on the need for readers to constantly scroll up just to see what is being commented upon.
Cool

I make no assumptions as to whatever became of that machine after the humans died.

So you're going to quote everyone just in case he edits his post ? That's a nonsense, quoting someone just after his post will get your critics from the mods (especially for very long quotes), no matter wich forum you're on.
