Written below are the details of the Ultimate Collection, but first, here is the bit I want you to look at:

"Plus 23 extra scenes shot for the Enter the Matrix consol videogame " (disc four)

Plus Reloaded doesn't seem to be described as an extended version! Is the 133 minutes enough and is that just the movie? (After all the first one wasn't supposed to be an extended version from what I can tell and that is 131 minutes). I want to be certain that I'm not paying for three movies which I already own, with some more crummy 'making of' featurettes - I want something special.

I just don't understand why amazon wouldn't tell me if there were an extended version.... *shrugs*

I heard that it will be a White Rabbit type scenario. As the movie is playing, you can click the button when an ETM scene takes place. After the scene, you return to the movie. So maybe they dont count the minutes from ETM.

Why do they say the ETM scenes are on the second cd then?

Face it! They've been lying to us. Now the Ultimate Collection is nothing but a rip off and that will be the last thing anyone remembers the matrix for.... being a rip-off.

Honestly, this means that much for me. This boxset was going to be Reloaded and Revolutions united as a single entity at last, with Ghost and Sparks finally on the big screen and with the explanation of Sati (from ETM) as someone who the oracle sees as worth sacrificing herself for.

But as it is they've given up on us. They've decided not to make an extended addition and are giving us even more self-praising making of cds without bothering with the big payoff.

I don't need some philosophy lecturer's thoughts on the matrix.
I can get plenty of those here.

I don't care about how they made the matrix. That only takes away the magic.

All I cared about was seeing the matrix in greater glory than ever before. And it's been denied.

Damn them!

I kinda see what Pie is saying!

BUT!

I think it would be far to difficult to intergrate the ETM scenes into the Film seamlessly. The ETM Scenes fit as per the game time line not perhaps the Film Timeline.
Either way you get to see them on the Big Little screen!

Does that make sense?

So why did they say that they would? They lied to me! Grrrr!

Please tell me why I should care about the ultimate collection now that it doesn't have a reloaded extended version anymore? (Initially they claimed that it WOULD have an extended version)

Well
1) You get a cool box set!
2) You get a further 3 discs!
3) You can sell your existing DVDs to make up some of the price!

I'm sure there are more, i just can't think of any mow!

1) Well it does look pretty. Smile

But doesn't content need to count for something?

2) Three more discs. But what of them? If it had the wachowski's ideas on the movie I might be willing to take a look. However, the wachowskis don't want to tell everyone their ideas because they know that anything they say will be taken as law by fans and then the interpretations will cease.

So what are we left with?

(i) Some philosophers saying what they think. I'm sorry but I've seen what the existing 'matrix and philosophy' books are like. I'm not paying for any of that shit.

(ii) More 'making of' feaurettes. As if I wasn't sick of those already now I can see even more. Do you think I actually want to know how they did they effects so I can see every minute flaw whenever I see a special effect? I've seen too much of that already. (whenever I see the sentinel battle in M3 I can always tell that the people in the mechs aren't working the arms, thanks to some stupid featurette!)

3) But I like the DVDs I have. What's the point in selling them just so I can buy them again for a higher price? That's just silly!

Ok!
Don't buy it!

I'm going to though!

I have sold my old Matrix DVDs for £18 so the box will only cost me £26.

Ooooh you're British then? Same as me.

Doesn't £44 quid seem a lot to pay for movies you've only just sold? You can imagine the surprise of my friend when I told her that there wasn't anything worth getting on the ultimate DVDs and she might as well get the old movie DVDs (which'll be cheaper now too). From the sounds of it she can get the old ones for less than twenty quid - good for her!

But there's got to be some reason why you are buying the box set right? Is it because you wouldn't feel like a proper fan without it?

I guess that's the reason!

I am a huge fan of the movies and i think that £44 for 10 discs is really good value!

Been a hardbore fan since the first movie and I am sure the movie is based on a role playing game a friend of mine wrote!

I want the box and the extra new discs!

that's all.

Maybe I missed something. I never heard that any of the trilogy was going to be an 'extended cut.' I guess that would be cool, but I never expected it, so I guess I'm not that disappointed. Who are 'they,' by the way? I was wondering, who said there would be extended edits of the movies?

I understand you totaly, i was also looking forward to watching all the ETM scenes in the movie Sad, could someone here not edit the movie on there pc and put them in, and make it available to download? i dont know what your rules are about this, but most fans here have the dvds so we have paid our right to them, and its not illegal to have back ups, and the people that do download without owning the dvd have already broken the law once, i think it would be cool if someone could do this. But nevertheless, as i dont have the animatrix, and i want the limmited eddition 1 with the bust, i will be buying it still.

Neo1

Disapointing but i will still love it.

Thank's Fatpie, i didn't know that the ETM scenes were not going to be in the Reloaded movie. Because at the time they told me that it was an extended version, well that was what i was told at the store were i am buying the box set from. Nono

But i am still going to get them, and i am still going to watch them untill my eye's begin to hurt. Whitelaugh

Seeing as how I own none of the DVDs, this seems like a good deal. When I heard it was destined to be a trilogy I decided to hold out for the final DVD release.
