Is there anyone who dislikes bullet-time?
If not, what is your best bullet-time scene? Ak47 bazoom!

And who can guess if I like it? Uncle Ben

There is no bullet as one in bullet-time!

Bullet time was awesome when it was introduced in M1. After that, thousands of movies and commercials over used bullet time to the point of exhaustion(sp?). Bullet time, I am sorry to say, has lost its coolness.

I agree completely with you because I myself have seen A LOTS of shity bullet-time where it shouldn't have been in the first place. I guessed it would have been that way, but doesn't matter. Anyway, when I asked question I was thinking only of Matrix-bullet-time but maybe haven't made it clear.
And, as for me, I'm between scene when Neo dodges bullets in M1 and when hits Smith with fist through the rain in M3. Cool

i love bullet time, i think its an impressive use of technology. being able to control an enviorment like that is neat.
I even like stop motion animation which is pretty funny and creative.

the GAP commerical was the first to use it (i think) then Matrix.

Fav BT scene?
umm Trinity kicking the cop, just the look of the position and the sound it makes ^_^

How about the bullet time car crash in M2? The agent jumps on a car's bumper and completely wrecks the car, leaving a multi-car pile up in his wake. Awesome!

that was neat
a bit strange because it seemed it was shot to show the audience and not slowed down because the agents mulipulated the surrourndings.

Unfortunately no one can be told what The Matrix is...You have to see it for yourself.

In the first Matrix my favorite bullet time scene there's two on the rooftop of the building where the agent shoots at Neo and he dodges them and leans back. The other is in the subway fight between Agent Smith and Neo where they both jump and lunge at each other shooting their guns, "You're empty...so are you."

In Reloaded my favorite bullet time scene is in the Burly Brawl where Neo jumps in the air to kick one Smith and does a 360 to kick another all while in the air.

In Revolutions it has to be when Neo and Smith are in the crater and Neo loads up the fist and knocks the heck out of Smith.

Side note: The punch was Neo's best shot after that he realized he couldn't beat Smith.

How would YOU be able to tell the difference between the dream world...and the real world?

Oh, yeah, I completely forgot... Neo flying between buildings to catch Trinity in Reloaded. I watch it virtually every other day.

I remember the first time I saw Matrix 1 in theaters. I was totally blown away when Trin busted out the first bullet time scene. But I like all the other bullet time scenes just as I do with this one. What I didnt like is that they only used to first type of bullet time in M1, in the other films they only did it using CG.

Neobullets bazoom!

Anyone, I don't have a favourite, but the one with Morpheus jumping towards the helicopter and tripping is pretty awesome.

Max Payne brings in the concept of bullet-time. And it is not the first one to do it. But Matrix is revolutionary because of invention to make it for film using still cameras.

BTW, I agree that Max Payne's bt is kick-ass! (Also.)

I LOVED the bullet-time scenes in M1. It was awesome because it was mostly done optically, you know, using still cameras and then enhanced digitally. In M2 and M3 the "bullet-time" scenes looked a little too fake to me, mostly done digitally. They also threw it in at seemingly random points (besides Trinity jumping out the window in M2) that didn't happen to signify turning points in the movie or outstanding martial arts moves. Just my opinion.

My favorite bullet-time scene, probably Neo on the rooftop in M1 or Trinity jumping in M2. During these scenes, you can turn up the volume a bunch, and if you have a 5.1 system, you can trace every single bullet shot through the speakers. It's awesome. I also really liked Morpheus running towards the helicopter and getting shot at in M1.

I forgot another one of my favorite bullet times sequences. It's when Morpheus and Neo are sparring in M1 and Neo runs up the wooden pole and does a backflip over Morpheus and then Morpheus kicks him in the chest. That's probably my favorite.

Side note: I'm almost sure the Matrix came out before Max Payne did.

Max Payne was released in 2001 and The matrix in 1999. Plus, the work on Matrix began in 1997 (I believe - if not, it could have been only earlier). Moreover, first experiments with bullet-time for Matrix were made in 1996! I believe this says enough.

That's what I though, I know the Matrix was released in 1999, I didn't wanna say anything because Max Payne came out here in 2001 but we get everything relatively later than anywhere else here.

The doco on the creation of Bullettime is pretty awesome.
