I think it's totally incorrect.

The One is always a human. The remainder was created by human denial of the program, so it has to be corrected by a human (brain).

If a program could do it then he could just pick a stiff agent or something. There is no logic in that at all.

The Merovingians were kings that claim they are family of Christ, so also thinking they have devine blood. The Mero likes to think he is divine, that he has ultimate power.

But in fact he is, I think, the prime program of the second version of the Matrix, where cause-and-effect was the only mechanism and so the only thing the machines needed in order to control all the humans was information/knowledge: hence trafficer of information and link in the chain.

What he lacked was the intention for free will (choice) and the cause/effect of intuition. The Oracle implemented this and thus she is the prime program of the newer Matrix, leaving Mero behind in his delusion.

The Merovigian can be seen as both Lucifer and Adam (Persephone being both Lucifer's bride as Eve). He was one of the first programs who tasted (human) sin. Being that Lucifer and Adam/Eve are strongly connected, the symbolisation could be dualisticly.

Well yeah, I theorized and fantasized about it too in the past.

The five glasses between Neo and Mero and the three glasses between Trin and Perso made me think that he was the first One or something.

But now I understand why Persephone says "he was like you". What the exiles are for the Mero's organisation are the rebels for Zion. The Merovigian probably started 'the war in heaven' and saved rebellion programs from deletion. So, in fact, in the beginning he was 'the savior' of the programs that wanted to be free.

Indeed! And he was madly in love with Persephone, like Neo is in love with Trinity (that's why I think there are three glasses).

But when time went on, money and power corrupted them both. Mero more than Persephone, who still craves love and romance.
