First of all, I'd like to say that the Wachowski's aren't stupid enough to con their fans. What I mean by conning us is saying that "Zion is a Matrix" or something like that. These guys are really smart, and they know everyone could think of something like this. Considering all of the plot details that I've read through in "The Matrix", "The Matrix: Reloaded", "Enter the Matrix", and the few segments that we see in both trailers for "The Matrix: Revolutions," they're obviously developing something incredibly genius, and I haven't seen or come up with a single theory that doesn't have some sort of loophole in it, and everything that I've read from you hasn't made much sense either. Since many questions have gone unanswered in the entire Matrix series, I suspect they're going to answer them all with something huge in the next film.
On your writing:
I don't like the "black and white" idea of race that you brought into the essay- it just doesn't work. Making race an issue like that would totally kill the Wachowski's in Hollywood, and though they're very much about being for themselves and the Matrix, they're not stupid enough to do this.
I've also noticed that you've included a few wrong statements in the dialogue included in your essay. The Architect doesn't say "Please!" he says, "Please," which could mean that no, the other is not the mother, or "Please, let me continue with what I'm saying." It's a 50/50 chance, but the odds are the Oracle being the mother are high, as the way she thinks investigates the human psyche, being able to see what they are thinking and such, which would make perfect sense for her character. However, when the machines figured they didn't need her anymore, she got rebellious and decided to help the humans. Persephone as the mother? Maybe, but I have my doubts. I can understand your argument, but I don't really see how her program investigates the human psyche.
Okay, new subject:
What I don't get is how the ending of Reloaded and the Oracle/Niobe discussion work together. The plot in Enter the Matrix isn't just some stupid game, its actually meant to coincide with the movie and since everything that happens in the game (besides the exaggeration of SWATS and police) did happen, that means nothing in it is a cheat, or a figment of someone's imagination. The Oracle does say that when Neo touched the source, he separated his mind from his body, but how does this make any sense if everything that happened in the real world did happen, and in his "hell," he's seeing it all? I don't get it... it would only make sense if that happened after he killed the sentinels.
As for Neo's killing of the sentinels, I do think its because he's in a matrix, I think the movie has a lot to do with the metaphysical, and when he stopped the machines, it had to do with him being the One in both worlds, thus making him able to handle the metaphysical, kinda like Jesus, which is who he's supposed to be.
One more thing: If Zion is a Matrix, then Trinity might be the mother, with Trinity being an illusion to God's Trinity: the father, the son, and the holy ghost. But isn't Neo the son? Hm...
