first of all let me state that i am new to this forum, and i have not had the time nor the privilage to read all of the posts. i must say though that it is funny how so many people bash the matrix especially the second and third film, and still find the time to post. there will be a 4th film because human nature will allow it. as humans we can never get enough, an idea of there being more of what intreagues us is what we want. we want more. maybe not now but eventually someone will make a4th and maybe even a 5th, even if the story is told in a good or a bad way. every single person wants to see a 4th film, if you admit to it or not, we want to see it so we can talk bad about it or praise it. this is our way of living.

now onto giving my idea for a 4th film. as i stated before if i have taken any ONES ideas then i am truly sorry. this is a little sketchy.

neo apperently was supposed to be our savior, he was supposed to be crist retold in another way. i feel that matrix resurrection could make sense. in the bible crist is resurected so should neo. he did not die in the third film he was awaken. everything in all three movies rounds itself off. in the first film morpheus states that there was a person born inside of the matrix that freed the first of us, and this is further explained in the 2nd movie. what if he reawakens 3 days later. the burst of energy opens his mind more than anyone could imagine, and he does the impossible he awakens outside of the matrix. this is the main philosophy for the 4th film from here on it gets sletchy. i feel that now there could be a whole new idea to the movie because we are in a place that has never been reached. of course now he will go on and try to free more minds, which would seem impossible. and also what if he finds out that it is not robots that are controlling us but maybe aliens or other humans, this is an element that could be explored and it would bring a twist to the film, also it would bring us the element of suprise because we do not know what is going to happen next.

if you like this idea or not, or please elaberate more on how to better my story please reply i really would like people to post their comments.

I think they should make a 4th and 5th movie at the same time, like they did with Reloaded and Revolutions, so that it would still be like a Trilogy.

Matrix (1st movie)

Reloaded and Revolutions (both movies make up the 2nd movie)

Resurrection and Revelation (both movies make up the 3rd movie.

I think Resurrection should be all-out action, similar to the disappointing Neo vs. super-smith fight at the end of Revolutions, just a LOT faster.

Revelation should be the very last movie in the series, to explain all the freaking questions we have.

Revolutions was SOOOO not an end to the story.

It just made things worse.

Suffice to say that the M3 has some loose ends, i agree to have a 4th and maybe a 5th film to end all doubts, all the questions... I think there should be a final battle against the machines as when neo will be reborn inside the matrix again! and as u said, what if there were other countries manipulating the machines, other survivors, that are in fact, superior to the Matrix?
I think u could be a director along with the W-brothers dude! hehehe! nice thought!

i feel that the first matrix suprised us all we were not sure what to expect. if this element would be introdost to us then we would have a great movie. if neo is resurrected then we can start over a fresh new story. this is all anyone needs to make a good film . think of it how many of the movies out are more enjoyable when the audience does not know what was happening. the 2nd and 3rd film left us wanting more. the next film should be a rebirth just like the 1st film was the beginning. everything that has a beginning has an end, are we all sure that this was the way it ended?

There must be a fact that all the zionites regarded Neo as "The One" and the savior and should remain constant on any succeeding film/s.

Maybe, it will ruin the his icon if he'll be ressurected. Maybe he can show himself within the matrix as a spectre or an apparition or a residual image though more like a ghost that will guide the rebellion or future potentials!

They could probably cast new characters and say 50 or a 100 years after the death of Neo a new saga will astound the audience anew! Also a new title, not "The Matrix - *********" shit stuff like that so as to break the linkage or to say its just a continous story line!

There are a lot of good followers of the Matrix Trilogy out there but let's respect the finity of M3....

I gotta tell you, I had the exact same idea for new movies (even the titles!). Two movies would give tons of room to explain old questions, create new ones (and EXPLAIN THOSE ONES TOO), and generally increase the following of the Matrix saga. Face it, anybody who says Revolutions was a horrible movie would STILL go see two more. Everybody would. The actors would come back (at least enough of them to transition to the next one), and having Keanu back for them would not be so out of the question. RESURRECTION! Not only that, they could get Trinity back (Lazarus? Hello? Maybe with some machine-aided surgery or something? Lazarus was gone 3 days, and Trinity could be back in Zion in less than one, right? Man, that would be sweet.).

I'm just saying, everything is in place. The only reason to not do it is to be cruel, to be lazy, or both. Unfortunately, I still doubt it will happen. I mean, I HOPE it does. I hope the brothers, Joel Silver, and the cast all sat down after the FIRST movie and said, "Let's do this: We'll make a huge killing with this sequel, and the comics, the Animatrix, the game. . . all that. But we'll leave things totally unraveled. People will hate it, but their curiosity will drive them to online forums, and they'll hash it out for a while. They'll all try to convince each other that it's over, that it was bad, and that we totally betrayed our non-Hollywood visions and our brilliant philosophical and metaphorical creations. We'll even release a whole open-ended gaming world, and a new boxed set to make a few extra bucks, so people will think it's really over. Meanwhile, we're in New Zealand, making the REAL third installment (which is another 2-part project). Nobody will know it, because we'll spend like 2 years making sure it's a total secret. Then, in like 2007, BAM! We won't even make a trailer for it. We'll just put it in theaters one day. Okay, okay, we'll make a sweet teaser trailer. No scenes, just a bit of dialogue: [Black screen] 'We all thought you were dead.' [pause] 'So did I.' [digital rain] [Release date, but no title]. We'll give the masses a week to flood the Internet with forum posts, then we'll pull in some record box-office numbers again, just like before, complete with 6-month cliffhanger. We'll resolve everything that really needs resolving. No stupid semantics or Oracle-rantings. People will understand what they meant when they said "I know he'll love it" at the end of Revolutions when Sati makes that sunrise. It will be the movie stunt of the century!"

And so forth. Sure, I might be dreaming, but part of me has seen it happening since Revolutions. And when it does happen, you will all ask me if I (or 84th Matrix) knew about it.

And I'll say, "Oh no... No, I didn't. But I believed... I believed." Cool
