»Gnostic chross on Animatrix "World Record"«

I though funny to see that the Animatrix episode "world record" had many implicit refferences to Jesus and Gnostic icons...

The "father" of the protagonist begins with a nice cross on his chest - speaking to the hero about his faith on him and how he believed he would do as he wanted to...

The key he (the hero) passes to a man who's there - maybe parking cars - deserves a full moment of slow motion - just to show us the "cross" sheped of it's carving as well as the circle in the center of it's arms...

The cross as a key or the key as a cross is evident...

This "hero" is willing to sacrifice everything (including his own life) to prove the world, to "prove them wrong";

The final scene (that makes me chill, when the hero says "free") happens in front of a chross pattern wall - in front of wich -answering to the quote of the agent "What could anybody want more?" he get's up, starts to levitate, opens his hands to the cross wall and says: "Free"...

Well, it's funny and, somehow, intriguing...

Some things to warm up the topic...

Dan Davis it's running on a stadium based on the concepts from Barcelona - Spain.
The building uses lots of architectonic references from Gaudi's work - "The Sacred Family" - the cathedral of Barcelona...

The name of the guy with the face of Brad Pitt - the coach of Dan Davies who doubted of him and his power to do his "world record" is... Thomas! - yeap, this puts him near of "doubting Thomas" and, obviously, from the Gnostic side (where Thomas has a great influence);

Finally (but not least) - the woman (who's a reporter on the story) and who says that believes in Dan Davis has a hair that - obviously - is absolutelly out of the rest of the references from the episode - red hair...

Guess who was said to have this hair colour?...

I had noticed the cross at the beginning and the crosses on the window at the end, but never thought about its possible meaning.
