[Matrix 1]
Neo (the first time he returned to the Matrix): "I used to eat there. Really good noodles. I have these memories from my life. None of them happened. What does that mean?"
Trinity: "That the Matrix cannot tell you who you are."

I didn't get it ? It's funny to see how sure you are of yourself... you said that the anomaly will appear again despite the peace. Yeah sure, you just got it all Aksha, go on like that, you're on the right path to become the One.

I've not read anything but the last two threads so forgive me if I sound off-topic...

I think that Neo will not return unless war breaks out again. The one is used by the machines to prevent the system breaking down. The one is the sum of the anomaly caused by people rejecting the system.

I don't think Neo will come back if peace continues forever. Anyone disagree with that?

I still don’t agree with 'The One' being a tool of the machines.
'Yaldabaoth' just said that to give 'Neo' self doubt, and to get him to choose the reload option.
These are other reasons I dont beleive 'The One' is a tool of the machines.
How could the subconscious human brain of a unborn baby know that he has to balance the equation of a farcical world created by malevolent robots? Therefore making the choice that makes him 'The One'.
Also, how could the system tell one of the babies to make the choice that makes them 'The One'? If they do that then surely its not a choice.

In my opinion, 'Neo' is 'The One' because he attains enlightenment, similar to a Buddhist monk who has attained nirvana. He has changed the way his mind works, and this means he can change everything he perceives and has no limits.
It is this altered state of mind that makes him 'The One'. Not some arrangement of numbers in his head, or a choice he made before he was born.

In fact Yaldaboath, the anomaly is made of Neo and Smith togheter. You cannot analyze on of them without the other.

When you enslave a people, it can either accept to be slave or to risk their lives into a revolution. Smith is the menace of a revolution, he represents human desire of freedom (Smith : "I want everything").

But what if the dictator accept to free the slaves ? Then there is no need for a war anymore, slaves are freed and there is an agreement. Neo is the part of the humanity that want to accept an agreement. Simple as that.

It's the contrary : the anomaly comes when people are forbidden to have a choice (staying or leaving the Matrix). We see that very well in "record world", the man wants to get out but they try to keep him in. Wich leads to abnormal phenomenon.

As long as people are freed, the anomaly will not arise. Honnestly, that's one of the basic principle, if you didn't get that, you didn't get anything in the movie. Didn't you realize that the anomaly is a parable to explain how any revolution occure ?

That's indeed a lack of understanding the Architect's speech. The people HAVE a choice this time; that's the whole damn point of this third installment of the Matrix.

The problem doesn't lie with the humans, the problem lies with the machines; programmaticly/mathematically they cannot implement choice correctly. They MUST allow the One to exist.

The Matrix is a huge program. It offers a fully programmed life to it's participants, but when some people (subconsiously) say "no" to this offered program, you are left with an unsolved remainder.

The function of the One is to fix this remainder...

It goes like this:

non-accepter + non-accepter + non-accepter + non-accpeter + .... + non-accepter = the One (the sum)

When the One takes the right-hand door at the Architect, he says "yes" to his rational function, he says "yes" to the Matrix. Because he 'speaks' for all the non-accepters, he corrects the flaw by accepting the program again.
