Bottom line... the matrix is what it is... you either accept it or you don't...
Some of you are looking WAY too much into the littelest things. I mean, yeah it's fun to think about how things could have been different, but at the same time that takes away from the real movie, the real story.

That is the whole basis of the movie in my opinion, to make people think... the Bros left us to make up our own minds about the movie and its meanings... everyone sees it on a different level... and thats what makes it so great... they arent telling you what to think, they are letting you decide... so everyone has their own opinions on it. Which is exactly what they wanted, i think.

There is no right or wrong, truth or fiction about the matrix. Some things are hard facts, and some things are left a bit shadowy on purpose. Trying to prove that you know what the real answer is behind the matrix is pointless... there are so many reasonable explanations for so many unanswered questions in this movie, there is no real way to be 100% positive. (aside from asking the Bros face to face, but even then i doubt youd get the answers you're looking for)

The matrix is an enigma... a riddle... the very reason it was so successfull... it was original and a mystery... what more do you want? Just because the 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd movies didn't go how you expected is no reason to bash the matrix. God knows they suprised the hell out of me, and sure I would have liked to see a few things go a little differently, but they are all still great movies, with equally great stories. Action, Adventure, Romance, Sci-Fi, Drama, Comedy... all were present in this trilogy, being able to do that and still have a good story with people who can play the roles superbly is an accomplishment in itself.

My advice, just enjoy it and stop hurting yourselves trying to figure out what it "REALLY" meant. It's different for everyone. and dont get me wrong, i like to hear about other peoples ideas, which is why im a member of this forum, and i like the matrix very much... i just hate to see people bashing on something so great, or trying to prove something that is not supposed to be proven...

I agree with you. It *is* possible to over-interpret the films, as demonstrated on here...

There is reason and purpose for EVERYTHING. There can be millions of opinions, but fact is fact. There is no escaping purpose, no denying logic, as Smith says. The Bros knew exactly why each event occurs and the reason it took place.

The Bros know the Matrix better than anybody in this place. They probably laugh at some of our silly theories if they found this place! LOL!

Not to forget the brilliant idea to make the movie timeless. Because even in 20 years the environment (= destroyed world & simluated 90ies) will be acceptible as scenery

I agree, but they need to fill in those gaps for us to understand more, by either making books, or more movies.
Either those two things, or giving us more information in any way for us to get more in-depth with what the matrix really is, ect., ect.
