Mother of THe Matrix

I wish to bring to attention an article I found on

geocities.com...

It is an interesting theory about the mother. Enjoy.

“Who is the "mother" that the Architect refers to?”
The Architect says, “Please,” in an almost disapproving sense when Neo suggests the Oracle, but does not reveal who it really is or even directly that Neo is wrong. The architect was the one who created the Matrix; the co-creator is neither Persephone nor the Oracle. Both of them are only programs that have a purpose in the matrix, just like the rest. The Architect is in charge of the Matrix world and the co-creator is in charge of Zion. She has almost the same age as the Architect. Therefore, that woman is the Head Counselor, the only woman of importance that lives in Zion and the one who asked for the two captains to volunteer at the council meeting. She's the one who knew all along about the Matrix. She was the one who told Zion's Defense Minister to cool off and to let Morpheus do his work so things could go as planned.
Or alternatively, it could indeed be the Oracle. She is the only program that truly wants humans to have a free choice... at the same time, she sees the future, because she knows the program code - she is like God - which is why Seraph protects her.

Any wish to comment on this?

Well, Neo's insight has always been in question. Even the Oracle figured that one out when she first met him, when even he hadn't figured out that Trinity was in love with him and was told that he 'was not too bright.' I like the idea of the Head Counsellor being in the Mother role.

A good writer can put the answer in plain sight, but lead you down various dead ends. Very clever!! I'll have to go back and watch and see if she has any holes. She could very well be a programmed personality inserted into the body of the Head Counselor like Agent Smith is now in Bain. This is just too good, and besides, it would be lame to introduce any other new characters at the last minute in Revolutions.

And, if her job was to get Neo to the Architect for insertion into the Source, her function might become useless after that point and simply be 'deleted' by the destruction of (most of) Zion.

This site has some interesting thoughts, but suffers from the "illness" that most Matrix sites have. They state, they have the ultimate truth (combined with falsy trascripts BTW), like:
Neo is a human. Fact.
Zion is a program. Fact.
The first version of Matrix was heaven. Fact.

while Matrix-Explained.com is open to any argument and counter-argument.

Other than that: Some interesting points indeed: I never read before, that the Mother could be the (female) Chief Councillor Dillard.
