I think this trailer supports the matrix within a matrix theory. Orange code = 'real' world code ie fire on bane, neo in orange tunnel and orange squiddies passing through neo and clear sky ie real real world.
So is this trailer prrof of matrix within a matrix? I think so.

My theory answers these questions like so...

1. The plug is guided by the Spiky God using mechanical parts.
2. The huge city is either the actual city 01 or its avatar/simulation

the huge city is the towers of human pods that neo awoke from. remember when neo awoke to look down as far as he could see? there were towers and pods everywhere. Its no coincidence that the towers are right next to the "harvesting fields." further more, i think the huge "pipes" or "cables" seen at the beginning of the trailer are the connection between the towers and the machine city 01. that is how trinity and neo find 01. they follow the trail from the towers to 01.

if you can perceive without eyes, how would you represent it visually? take the suck-ass'd daredevil movie. they gave a decent look to "seeing" without eyes. maybe the orange represents a sixth-sense type of perception neo has. i poop on the MWAM theory. regardless of what the movie reveals, IT CAN"T BE TRUE!!

what is wild tho, is that you can see the orange sentinel bouncing off of neo. from this you have to assume neo doesn't get hurt by it. that still leaves him and trinity with a disabled ship maybe even a dead trinity. the sentinel hit awefully close to her as well.

I like your interpretation, 0x587e1a2c. Having taken a closer look at the structures, the red pods are visible as red dots. You can also see the lightning between the "buildings." I retract my answer regarding this question in favor of 0x587e1a2c's answer.

Good point, but thinking about it, whenever you have seen Neo percieving The Matrix as green code it has usually been in the first person. i.e. Smith and the agents in the corridor in M1. Seraph in M2. Only time it has been from the side is when Trinity is resurrected, then you see glowing green Neo next normal green Trinity.

Good point, but thinking about it, whenever you have seen Neo percieving The Matrix as green code it has usually been in the first person. i.e. Smith and the agents in the corridor in M1. Also I don't see any problem with Having a Matrix within a matrix as a let down. Surely Neo's trancendance of the game is most important, him surpassing both the superficial matrix world, and the control level of the 'real worldl. Truely walking the path...

OK, some are seeing this orange energy as proof of MwM.
I disagree.
In the Matrix, Neo(or the Merovingian) can see the "code."
This show him the entire environment as green digits.
The fire(spirit?) that is seen in the real world, ONLY shows Smith. The background "code" is black. This means that Neo can see machine energy(he can feel them now), NOT that he can see the "code" of the real world.
Also, the other orange energies he sees(the corridor, the sentinel) are machine constructs...probably. But in those scenes, you can see the background is not made of orange digits(well, I guess the corridor IS the background in the orange corridor scene). Also, wouldn't we see Neo in the orange "code" in those scenes if this were "code view"?
I do think that it is machine energy he is seeing, which is cool to see their "spirits." I like how it looks like fire, which is oft used to describe the spirit.

Although you make sense with your observation why the red code doesn't prove the MiM theory (no digits), how do you explain Neo actually being able to see the "spirits?" Remember, this isn't a fantasy movie (like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within or Lord of the Rings). This movie is supposed to be a plausible story set in the future, so supernatural powers without an explanation cannot occur. I'm anxious to find out what you think.

Answer-This is a crazy guy, he has two different eyes, both of them dont even look like they belong to him, he might be able to explain WHY the Merovingian collects EYES. (ETM "My eyes! he took my eyes") remember the first movie Smith was on board that train, when Neo killed him.

Answer- The city is desroyed as they fight, signifying that the Matrix is breaking down. Which brings two different connections, the first one being:
The operator with the matrix code breaking on his monitors
AND
Neo on the phone at the end of the Matrix, and the SYSTEM FAILURE

Answer-You can see it's a battle the humans are fighting back probbaly killing a great number of sentinels, cause Neo makes them EXPLODE, then again those may be the bombs that senstinels carry.
ALSO that ship maybe the Machine real army, like TANKS not just sentinels this time invading Zion through the main doors. which means the defense system killed thos sentinels, but the doors were eventually breached.

Answer- It's Possible, but I think the eyes were given to merovingian in exchange for something. Remember that Neo cant see the code after he exits the ship he says "something is different, I can feel them"

Answer- So far we've seen the train on stations where there's a SINGLE boarding side, you cant JUMP across it, something tells me he is going somewhere NOT YET EXPLAINED
Maybe the train leads to the ONLY safe place in the Matrix, I dont believe he is a former one, but maybe the program in charge of RELOADING or LOOPING the Matrix. Maybe that is the ENTRANCE or EXIT to the matrix designed by the Machines. Remember Smith walks out of this very train after Neo Kills him, or kills the body Smith was IN.

Answer-IF YOU WATCH REALLY CLOSELY he is BLINDFOLDED in both of those scenes, maybe it represents the way he now "feels" the real world.
The Color is very similar to Seraph's CODE. And it does LOOK like his vison of Smith. The path he walks looks like the path to get to the "Speak" Robot. When Neo gets hits by those "arms" or sentinels as soon as they touch his body they destroy into fire, meaning now the machines cant even attack Neo's physical body in the "real" world.

-Neo stops machine gun bullets, and stops an attack by a sword with his hand, but he STILL bleeds. (the Merovingian "You see, he's just a man"
-Neo Stops the Sentinels
-Neo no longer needs to worry about sentinels he has TRANSCENDED THE 'real' world - AND HE IS NOT SEEN AS CODE like Smith or Seraph he just human. Maybe the SOURCE of everything was at the end the HUMAN MIND.

Answer- Not sure if its NEO, but that is the Oracles Apartment. YOu can see flowers on the right and cabinets in the left and back. there's a table and three smiths standing around. Neo would not just sit there and look the Smiths (my view) Seraph doest sit like that (loose, but still valid) So that maybe when Smith finally reaches the Oracle and becomes all powerfull. Maybe Smiths KILLS the Oracle, and now he looses his SUNGLASSES just like Neo. (Merovingian: "Her time is almost up" - Smith "[Morpheus] the future is OUR TIME" - Seraph "I protect that which matters most" Keymaker: "[the key unlocks] the Future"

Answer-NOPE. You can see the smoke making a loop meaning the SHIP went UP into the sky PAST the CLOUDS that darken the sky and now is goin back DOWN. Possibly to scape the distruction of the WORLD meaning that AT the END MAYBE we will end up with just a handful of sourvivors 24 to REBUILD the WORLD. -And this may also mean it was ALL ment to happen and the machines are still in control, but it wouldn't satisfying ENOUGH so I think that this WILL BE the 6th time Zion is destroyed and rebuilt.

I dont think anyone would be pleased with a 6th cycle, or even a new matrix would be a crappy ending.

BUT it is possible that everything was ment to happen. Remember that The Oracle tells Neo that the path of the One ends at the source.(Then again the oracle seems to tell people what they need to hear in order to carry out a specific task) If he has reached the source (the Oracle said so) then, the Oracle can no longer SEE THE FUTURE because it was not planned by the machines.

Okay, the AI constructs(machine minds) have a "machine mainframe." Ostensibly, this is how they communicate with each other and the sentinels. They are all connected in a very real network.
In M1, Neo dies. He loses his carrier signal. When he is ressurected(by Trinity's kiss?), his mind is in the matrix, seperated from the connection with his body. I believe it maybe this reason that he is always connected to the Matrix. Because his mind was there, yet he was able to convince his subconscious that he was not really dead.
Through his always being connected, and the machines always being connected, he can now feel them in the real world.
When filtered through the part of his mind that is used to scan the machine code in the matrix, he can see their energy signatures, and shut the sentinels down.
This is all conjecture, but I think it is suitable for now.
I'm sure we will get satisfactory answers that will amaze us with their cleverness. And, as for the end. I think there will definitely be a distinct, wrap-up ending.
But, that doesn't mean that the humans will be freed from the matrix, per se. Seeing the sky gives me hope.

Then are you suggesting that he has two different consciousnesses, one in the Matrix, the other in the "real world?" Isn't that what Smith did in M2 by copying himself onto Bane/Agents? Assuming that only programs can have multiple consciousnesses, do you then believe that Neo is a program, like Smith, therefore proving that the "real world" is another Matrix?

I have been reading all posts speculations around M3 trailer.
I would like to contribute with a modest thought. I studied movie-making
in my BsD, and something came to my mind. A trailer does not usually
correspond to the storys plot, and I think we are forgetting about this. Take a look.

1 - ofcourse the boomng voice is from the bigface in front of the guys, but it is
too difficult to afirm that this guys is neo. His sentece "program smith has grown....
you cannot stop it but I can", can be just a edited audio sequence , belonging
to other part of the movie. Also, the "and if you fail/I wont" can be taken from other
contexts

2- The parallel sequences when neo is flighting in real world and seeing the "ghosts"
can be totally independent in M3.

3-Neo is using a piece of (dont-know-to-say-in-english) fabric upon its eyes but we
cannot be sure he is without eyes. The merovingian sentence can be taken from a
completely different context and lead us to conclude that neo lost his eyes.

Well, I am not saying what is happening, I am just saying that a trailer is a montage, can lead us to completely different conclusions. It is pretty difficult to
try and build the m3 storyline for it.

but somethings can be deduced, for sure :

1 - neo is trapped somewhere
2 - smith is the main focus on the movie
3 - the movie spend a good time on zion's real war.
4 - something huge happened to neos eyes
5 - neo , somehow, can stop machines in real world using his mind.
