Fatpie, you have a problem in your mind, you pretend to want peace by accusing me of being agressive to you, and then you start againt o be a **hole.
What the hell is your problem ?

annaerullo.... why should it not be true ? Just check by yourself since you insinuate that I lie, you didn't ask for source to anyone and the way you wrote your comment... adding a smiley don't change a lot the unpleasant way you wrote it.

Look, stop being an idiot you silly Belgian!

I did want to stop bickering at one point. That was before I discovered that you were pulling random phrases out of thin air to discredit me, only to then criticise me for not understanding them!

BTW the apostrophe in 'ladies' room' should be after the 's'.

So that's your problem ? You can't stand to see a Belgian that's cleverer than you (because I tell you.... you're really stupid). I don't post random message, you lier, I just answer to you and you don't need me to discredit you, you're just doing yourself because all your posts were stupid comments like "not convicned", "what's that rubbish" and on and on.

And yeah, just try to hide behind tiny details like a "s" or by interpreting wrongly all I say, you're just going to be my friend. From now, every time I see you say a stupid bs (that'llb e often), I'll be there to point it out. Now you really pissed me off you arrogant weasel.

Nice forum. Very interesting theories. Lots of clever people here.

I wish the Bros explain all the still-unexplained-riddles of the Matrix one day. But until then, it's fun trying to discover them ourselves, right Smile

I agree with those who believe that the Merovingian is not a previous One, and that he's an evil program representing Satan (who according to Christianity, is the fallen angel).

Here are my 2 testicles: What did Merv meant by saying that he wanted the eyes of the Oracle?

I believe he did not mean the actual eye balls, like some suggested. It was figurative. He meant by that: I want to have the power of Sight. Why?

Merv is a trafficker of information. He knows what's going on, and remembers what has happened. Thus, he knows the present, and the past.

Information is power. What does a man with power want? As the Oracle said, "More power". He also wants to know the future.

The ultimate knowledge.

Second cent coming another day Smile

I have a doubt about that. In ETM, we see that Merv has prison full of people whose he took eyes. Why do that ? To try to take the sight even if the owner didn't give them ?

I didn't know that about the Merovingian. Good you raised it. It does make me wonder about my last statement... But, I still find it hard to believe that all those people had the power of Sight.

So, although I'm still convinced that Merv wanted the Sight, I cannot explain why "Satan" poked those people's eyes out. What terrible thing they did to him to receive such punishment?

I agree that this is not the place to talk about that, and that this deserves its own thread.

In one of the free comics (if forgot wich one), we see that normal woman in the Matrix has the sight, at a very low level of power of course. Merv probably captured some humans known to have that ability, so that he can make experiences on them.

That's actually quite a cool idea! Some humans have the sight and the merovingian uses their ability in order to further his own knowledge. Presumably the merovingian has no foresight powers of his own and that is why he always tries to take them from others. It does seem that the merovingian has no powers of his own. His only power is his knowledge and without that he is powerless.

In fact he looks to be very strong too since he reduced a key to ashes with his single hand.

...because I wrote:

I have never heard this... Can you tell me where you learned it? I think it is quite a nice parallel, if it is true...! Wink I just never heard it before.

Please, reread what I wrote, Apocryphe. I insinuated nothing; I meant nothing more or less than what I said! Honestly, I had never heard that information, and I wanted to know where you might have heard it, so that I could see for myself. That's all. I never meant to imply that I was not keeping an open mind, or that it couldn't be true.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'you didn't ask for source to anyone'... did you mean that I only asked you, making you feel singled out? If I did that, I apologize; it was certainly not intentional. I didn't write it to be unpleasant.

In this post, I hope you receive my tone as not sarcastic, not agressive, but neutral and pleasant, and above all, sincere, as that is my aim. (See, it's hard to describe a tone of voice, or an inflection; that's why I use smileys! Very Happy)

i posted somewhere that Merovingian is Cronos/Saturn and Neo is Zeus/Jupiter

Merv's statment of time would indicate this, also he has survived Neo's predecessors, presumably the other 5 ones, if you know the story of Cronos and Zeus, then you might see the parallel

maybe Merovingian controlled 'time' in the matrix before he was exiled.

it's in ETM, but it's not an FMV... its one of the cutscenes that are rendered in the game engine... the first time i saw it, i thought Merv was sprinkling some substance for Niobe to inhale.. but i realised my mistake when i watched it again... i think i've watched too many martial arts movies!

nice theory - but who is Cronos and what do Zeus and Cronos symbolise? What would this make Smith? Please expand on this idea because it sounds fascinating! Smile

The Merovingian kings created a position within their households called maior domo in latin. Which literal english translation means Mayor of the palace, which is where we get the title of modern day mayor. Now the way that I think that relates to the MAtrix is the merovingian is a BIOS program design to run the BUS system inside Machine city. He holds the keys to the flow of all information. Now if the Merovingian is the devil which is quite possible. I don't think so, the Merovingian is another function of the system that is NEEDED. In order for the Matrix to function these programs need to work TOGETHER. The oracle is closer to being the devil than the Merovingian is, because she states in Reloaded that it is her function to unbalance the Matrix. Yet at the same time the oracle functions as the memory system of the computer. The Merovingian always wants to control everything. He can't. Remember NEO is a program that cannot be controlled, and he can move freely without consent throughout most parts of the Matrix. This annoys the Merovingian immensely. I'm all over the board and tired so, it's kind of random.

But the main problem with that is that the Merovingian is an exile. He no longer does anything for the system. Indeed, he does what he does only for himself.

Keymaker: I have been held captive in a chateau in the mountains by an Exile named the Merovingian.
