In this situation the philosphical part doesn't matter, especially the 'You can't see past the choicse you don't understand'. That doesn't even apply here people.

What matters here is that Neo simply flew away AFTER he proved something to Smith, although Smith obviously didn't give up in the long run. Smith knew, at that point, that Neo could take on hundreds of clones of himself. And Neo wasn't 'flying' (maybe he glided a few times) during the Burly Brawl, so why would the Smiths fly during the battle? I honestly believe Smith already had the power to fly at this point, but didn't see a reason to since Neo had just busted out of a Smith pile!

He is not only able to fly, his strength has grown enormously. At the burly brawl Smith was only able to deliver some 'weak' punches and he was kicked away himself quite easily.

I think it is due to the fact that he took over the whole Matrix (or at least Mega City) at the end of M3. He drains all the energy from the clones so that he becomes the sum, the REAL Anti One.

Neo got his powers from a sum too. The growing refusal of the Matrix among mankind made him for what he is. After that Neo's powers are even more growing because he is a human; he is able to grow! Thanks to his love for Trinity, his powers probably grow beyond of what the previous Ones were capable off.

The problem with Smith is that he cannot grow by himself like Neo does. He needs to parasite on others in order to establish this. So when his army of clones has become huge, he can let the energy of the collective consiousness flow into the oracle-smith.

I think that by assimilating the Oracle he had insight into the variables and rules of the Matrix. He understood that he had to concentrate the power at one point rather than just let all the lumpy clones run and punch at Neo.

That's pretty freaky 'cos in that case, or the more reason for Neo & Smith both 2 die, 'cos if Smith follows Neo everywhere and can do what he does, that means Smith can't die while Neo lives....
