»Neo’s connection to the Source in the Real world -EXPLAINED«

At no point in any of the movies do we see the 'Real World'.

The 'Zion' world is like a septic tank that needs to be pumped out regularly. And The One is programmed to have powers in the 'Zion' world just like in the 'Matrix' world.

Neo had (at least) two ways to get to The Source, the fast but controlled way through the Architect's door or the slow way through the 'Zion' simulation.

If you think zion is a simulation fine but that's only what you think that is not fact. You believe that zion is a simulation and I believe that zion is real. The only people that can prove you or me right will not say if it is this or that. So we have no evidence at all only speculation. And inevitability I really liked reading your stuff very interesting.

Inevitibility alludes to Neo being only able to see Smith's signal and the sentinels' signals when he is blind. Perhaps this is a combination of the Source and also the general machine world; it may be possible that Neo is able to see everything because of the Sentinels and various sensory equiptment. His connection with the source allows him to see what the machines see. Therefore, since the Source is aware of all its units, Neo is, too. Smith, who is a program, is in essence an electrical pattern with a representation in the Matrix. Therefore, when he is sent into the real world, perhaps this electrical pattern becomes assimilated with Bane and thus Neo and the Machines can still detect it.

Neo says at some point that he feels "something's different." This means it's likely that he's never felt it before. This leads me to believe that either the Source has opened a direct connection with him (connected to his port? - My, that sounds devious) or it is again his connection with Smith. If a Matrix-based program can make a concious presense in the human world, why can't a human make a concious presense in the machine world? Perhaps the copying was a two-way transaction, as was said. A quick side to illustrate my point: Trinity routinely downloads programs for performing certain actions; these are algorithms. Perhaps when Neo entered Smith, the algorithm for speaking with the Source was also copied over.

The Source rhymes with The Force. Neo is a Jedi, but only against Machines (or in the Matrix). Jedi can deflect blaster bolts with their ligh sabres; Neo can stop bullets in the Matrix. Jedi can see with their eyes closed; Neo can see Machine code with his eyes closed (or burnt out). Jedi have telekinetic powers; Neo has telekinesis within the Matrix. (Dark) Jedi can zap people (like the Emperor against Luke at the end of Revenge of the Jedi); Neo can zap Machines.

This has been the most interesting forum thread I have ever read in regards to the Matrix. Fantastic.

There are two scenes in Revolutions that raise a couple of questions though.

Firstly, towards the end when Neo and Trinity are flying towards the machine city, a sentinel 'passes through' Neo before Trinity says 'Gotya'. When I say 'passes through' we see a semi-transpaent gold light with the silhouette of a sentinel pass directly through Neo's solar plexus. What exactly happened here? What passed through Neo? Whatever the source is, it must have a 'physical' manifestation and not just an RF signal of some kind.

The second scene is the "See your enemy" fight scene where Neo destroys Bane-Smith.

Neo sees Bane-Smith as a fiery body, although we know that Bane is in-fact a human being. If Smith was able to 'download' himself into a human body then what actually changed in Bane's flesh (via the carrier signal) in order to change Bane from a normal human being to an 'object' that the Smith virus can infect. Bane seems to have been 'irradiated' by the source to the effect, where Neo could feel him, and also hold the 'consciousness' of Smith. The nature of that carrier wave, or whatever could do that, transcends our understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum.

- Somehow, although Bane was a human being connected to some form of receiver by the spike in the plug at the back of his head when Smith took him, the energies that that spike sends and receives were able to 'carry' a signal that was able to imprint the Smith virus all through Bane's body.

When Neo destroys Bane-Smith with the metal poll "I can see you", we also see sparks flying through the air (possibly the way Neo sees bane's blood etc) and as the body dies the life-force represented by the simmering gold dissipates and fades away. This could suggest that the life-force or energy transmitted to bane was imprinted every cell in his body (I used the word 'irradiated' earlier). This could also suggest that whatever 'force' the source actually is can co-exist with physical matter (which would also explain why a sentinel, made of metal, would have this light permeating through its entire structure as seen when the sentinel passes through Neo). The source could be the 'soul' of the machines.

(Perhaps, this source is some new 'dimension' of physics - consciousness, the soul or whatever. The machines seem to have invented anti-gravity after all, who knows what the machines could come up with after a 1000 years of having an entire planet to themselves.)
