I love the movie. Best movie of all the times:)!
I just want to know what you guys think of the following:
1) Why not just use cows as a electricity source?
2) Is it really difficult to remove black sky? I mean machines have incredible technology...Why not just remove black clowds?
3) If Smith could upload himself to Bane's brain...why can't architect do that to all humans and upload programs to all humans that tell them do nothing and lie still.
4) Why do humans need matrix at all? I mean come on....can't machines just cuff them up and let them lie in one place for their lifetimes? I am sure humans could survive in those conditions.
5) What did Smith or Architect mean by that 'people didn't accept some versions of Matrix'...What does 'accept' mean? What happens if they don't accept? They are still plugged...How can they escape...
6) Why didn't agents of the Matrix didn't have completely supernatural powers? Like creating objects, disappearing, appearing in different places? They should, shouldn't they? They are the agents of the system and should be able to do anything with it to achieve their purpose.
7) How could Smith reach outside world being in Matrix? Why was Deus scared of Smith and why did Neo say that Smith is a danger to the machines? I mean i know there is Mobil Av...but if you think about it...that assumes that machines who want to do something in matrix they don't just get closer to it and boom they are in matrix...they should have some system of jacking in...and stuff...so if someone wants to get out but has no physical body then wtf?....actually....Sorry...all exiles might have physical bodies and Smith could all upload to them...but then still machines could destroy all of them..anyways...question 7 isn't that firm after all;]
Waiting for feedback guys:)

Wow you guys are fast..
Gupta...
1) Cows do not generate as much power? Heh... How can you say that dude? Do you have experience trying out matrix with different animals?

2. If you watch carefully in Revolutions then there is an electricity field over the sky which prevents the machines from interfering. Maybe the machines have the technology or maybe they dont. The important thing to understand the reason WHY the sky is blackened out and its significance.
|
You didn't answer my question.
Quote: |
3. Why would the Architect want to do this? Then the human's brain is gone. So they wouldn't be able to take any power out of them. Thats going in circles. Doesn't make any sense. Bane (the guy Smith took over) essentially died when Smith took over him. His mind died but his body was still being occupied by Smith.
|
I didn't know/realize that it was only brain machines used;/ Maybe you're right on that one then.

5. Not accepting the Matrix means waking up. Have you seen the Animatrix? Two episodes deal with this issue. The humans in the first Matrix did not accept the Matrix to be real so their minds kept telling them its not real so they woke up. They are plugged but they have woken from the Matrix, so they are not producing energy. This led the Architect to build another Matrix.
|
I think you are wrong on this one. Means waking up? If i open up your brain and massage certain areas of your brain making you see dark circles ....can you wake up from that? You can't escape electric impulses sent to your brain...
That's what you see and feel...You can't wake up from that..
Quote: |
6. Agents do what they do. They do what they do because thats what they are programmed to do. They dont have the ability to do anything they want in the matrix. Sure they could be programmed to do all that stuff but why? Whats the point? Their job is to catch rebels and exiles. To do this, they have been given the powers of fighting well, dodging and jumping from body to body.
|
You start sounding like an oracle here...
Agents do what they do? Heh...nice explanation..
Please you don't have to describe what they are for and all that... We all know that...My question was why weren't they given more power...because obviously what they have is not enough to control Neo or certain exiles...
I would wanna watch how agents catch twins:)
Quote: | 7. How did Smith enter the real world? Well, Smith is a program. Can programs exist in the real world? Yes they can. We see programs in our real world all the time. Except they are inside a computer or a car or some type of shell. In the Matrix, Bane's body serves as the host. So this would compare the human body to a computer and a mind to a program. Whats wrong with that? The body is a system just like a computer. And when people plug into the Matrix, their neural patterns are translated into digital code. So why cant the opposite happen? Why cant Smith's digital code translate into neural patterns? Thats exactly what happens.
|
Again..you really don't have to explain me how it's done. We all know that. You didn't answer my question. How can a program escape matrix unless it has PHYSICAL body outside matrix that is connected to the matrix. Certainly it could do it by using few exiles....but that wouldn't be sufficient for horde of machines....

He just said they wouldn't accept the program and entire crops were lost. |
i wasn't saying that he sayd ''kept waking up and dying'' put thats what he ment.

=They did not accept and died...
They humans/crops didn't accept and died. If you are unplugged bby force you die. Entire crops were lost....so I think CrossFade is also right.

Hmmm I haven't read all of AG's answers so I'll try to make sure mine are reasonably different as I go along.
1) Why not just use cows as a electricity source?
There are no cows in the real world. There aren't any animals. Animals do not exist in the real world. The Wachowskis affirmed this in one of their (rare) interviews.
2) Is it really difficult to remove black sky? I mean machines have incredible technology...Why not just remove black clowds?
It's not simply black sky, it is a kind of electrical storm which stretches across the sky. AG already said that I believe. How on earth is that NOT answering your question, Darko?
3) If Smith could upload himself to Bane's brain...why can't architect do that to all humans and upload programs to all humans that tell them do nothing and lie still.
Some people have suggested that the mind is used to gain the power and therefore if people had lobotomies or something like that they wouldn't use their minds and therefore wouldn't produce any power. I believe this theory is suggested in the book "Taking the red pill".
However, another theory which I find far more appealing is that the matrix is actually used because it is more humane. The machines do not want to hurt the humans and that is why they set up the first matrix to be a kind of 'paradise'. The machines want nothing more than to do what is best for BOTh of them, but man continues to rebel against them.
4) Why do humans need matrix at all? I mean come on....can't machines just cuff them up and let them lie in one place for their lifetimes? I am sure humans could survive in those conditions.
It is very cold in the desert of the real (hence the fact that the humans moved to Zion. Here's where the big problem of the matrix really grates. They should be wearing astonaut's suits all the time. There's no plants, therefore no oxygen or food. The whole world should be freezing cold because there is a black cloud blocking out the source of all life on the planet. Even if we presume that the machines have the last plants left and are using them to provide oxygen to the humans, that should mean that the moment the humans get out of the matrix they should die of suffocation and cold.
Anyway we shall have to stick to the theory that they are least likely to hurt themselves when they are wriggling around (each time their muscles spasm - like the Zionists do when they are hurt badly) if they are suspended in liquid.
5) What did Smith or Architect mean by that 'people didn't accept some versions of Matrix'...What does 'accept' mean? What happens if they don't accept? They are still plugged...How can they escape...
Smith says in the first movie that people kept on waking up when the first "perfect" matrix was running. They couldn't believe that any of it was real and they realised they were in a dream. How do you escape the signals in your brain when you are in a dream? You open your eyes!
If Smith says it, then it must be true. (We all love Smith here) You'll just have to accept it.
6) Why didn't agents of the Matrix have completely supernatural powers? Like creating objects, disappearing, appearing in different places? They should, shouldn't they? They are the agents of the system and should be able to do anything with it to achieve their purpose.
They can't create new programs. They are like the hardest difficulty AI bots you would find in a computer game. It's not that they are doing anything a human couldn't do. It is simply that they know the data around them better than a human would, so they know where to move.
It seems that data can only move through the matrix in certain ways. You can only leave the matrix through a "hard line". It seems agents cannot just teleport around the place, they need to occupy the space where a human was. That's the rules of the system. Strange, I know.
7) How could Smith reach outside world being in Matrix? Why was Deus scared of Smith and why did Neo say that Smith is a danger to the machines? I mean i know there is Mobil Av...but if you think about it...that assumes that machines who want to do something in matrix they don't just get closer to it and boom they are in matrix...they should have some system of jacking in...and stuff...so if someone wants to get out but has no physical body then wtf?....actually....Sorry...all exiles might have physical bodies and Smith could all upload to them...but then still machines could destroy all of them..anyways...question 7 isn't that firm after all;]
Words like "physical bodies" do not really apply to the matrix do they? What could possibly be physical about some strings of code? Smith can copy himself and it seems that the interaction between the mind and the matrix allowed him to copy himself onto a person. It's pretty unrealistic but this IS science fiction. Smith will be able to spread to the source because he is a program. The human form we see him with is simply the way he is represented to humans jacked in. He is a virus and he will spread anywhere, even outside the matrix. Do remember that the world was affected by him. The Mega City was covered in black clouds and a heavy rainstorm. I get the impression that this wasn't simply coincidence.
Just looked at your reply to AG. You seem to think that when Neo said that Smith would "spread through this place" he was talking about the physical machine city. He was actually talking about the source, the golden code that is all around him. One link to the source is through the train (the source was where Rama Kandra came from), but don't forget that the train is for taking things illegally to the matrix. There will be other ways to get back and forth. I expect some of the "maintenance corridors" (those white corridors we first see when Seraph shows them to us) lead to the source.

Akshat Gupta.
First of all, since you reverted to insults I will use the same tone when talking to you:) You didn't answer my questions but rather 'described' them.
Maybe you lack discussing/analyzing abilities...I am not sure;)
I am not totally skeptic:]
To prove it I can cleary see that Fatpie42 already answered my questions and convinced me of some of the answers;]
Well just few things...

'Some kind of electrical storm' sounds the same to me as if it was 'Wizard Gandalf did it and we don't know how to remove it".

About waking up from matrix..
I don't know dude...it's just strange...Direct stimulation of your brain is something that seems inescapable...If you send signals directly to your brain there is no way you can feel differently about it...Think of it...
Even if you open your eyes...what good will it do? What you see is still dictated by matrix...
and additionally about matrix 'rules'...well Neo can break them...Don't you think agents should at least be able not to die because of a bullet?
