Are you sure people are understanding what you are getting at? Because I read your questions and I don't see anything wrong with the answeres so...

I think you can look at the Agents like a shortcut in your computer. And lets say you just take your ''My documents'' folder and you make a shortcut and then you hide the original ''My documents'' folder and put the shortcut on your desktop....and then you can look at your desktop as the Matrix...you cant see the My documents folder but you can access it with your shortcut....but then one day you delete the shortcut but thatc dosnt mean that your ''my documents'' folder is also deleted and I think that you can look at the agent like that...they are just Shortcuts to a bigger program. So when you shoot an Agent you just delete the Shortcut and then the program automaticly creates a new one....

...so..they don't die but the shortcut gets destoyed...and also they have to obey surtain rules.
