ANOTHER theory...will this never end!!

Ok... i believe Zion is part of Matrix, and Neo is a program..... here is the rest of my thoughts... some are seen elsewhere, but slightly modified.. some are my own and i have not seen them anywhere at all.

MY THEORY:
AS WE SEE IN THE Animatrix serial, the last episode (Matriculated) we have the humans trying to convert the machines telling them that we can all live together. However, since we don’t all speak the same language, the humans set up an interface where the machines can see and interact with humans. The humans state that the machines MUST make the choice to be their friends, a choice of free will, where the humans would not manipulate the machines. In a way, the humans were trying to convey to the machines that they were trying to act as equals, not master and servant (the other episodes of animatrix point to this enslavement as the reasons behind the machine revolt). Interestingly enough, the last machine was an “upgrade” as the humans put it…. we see this (upgrade) theme in the movie Reloaded (even the title suggests it)!!

So what…

I suggest that Neo IS a computer program, made to reset the matrix and delete Zion. However, the oracle is a converted machine/program and Seraph is a human hacker who persuaded the oracle that the only way to permanent survival is through cooperation and mutual respect. That’s why seraph looks so different, he is NOT made in the matrix, rather he has been installed in the matrix FROM THE OUTSIDE!!.. the REAL real world.

So the oracle has made her choice to help the humans, and she does this by “upgrading” the Neo program (the little red candy/red pill). That’s why the Architect was so surprised that he “got it” so quickly. The significance of Neo’s choice to help Trinity, is seen in the line of the Animatrix : the machines MUST choose to help us, of their own free will!!

What about that Kid in Zion???? He is also a hacker, or more probably another program/machine that has been converted… thus the explanation of the Spoon, and why he comes right in the nick of time to prevent Agent Smith from “deleting” Neo. The spoon is a clue for Neo… that ZION is a simulation as well.

HERE is another character not seen in these theories. The Councilor. Note how he emphasizes the role that machines and humans play in helping each other. How we (humans) can live with machines side by side. He is telling Neo (the computer program) that there are humans that want to live freely, side by side, with machines. This will help Neo ultimately decide to give aid to the humans, if he wants to.

Agent Smith: May very well be a virus, that mutated unexpectantly when he “melded” with Neo. It is a program that became “corrupt” with code from Neo’s programming.

Alternately, it is a REAL (ie from the REAL world outside) human program/code that tries to eliminate Neo, since The One’s constant upgrades of the matrix keep it going on and on. Should Neo fail, the matrix would come to an end.

Trinity goes thru Hell. Faced with the knowledge that she is a program, she now has to choose between exile and deletion. If she chooses to help Neo, she will be deleted because he will ULTIMATELY succeed in bringing down the “Matrix-Zion” matrices. If she chooses exile, then she will run back to the Matrix, and living a life like Persephone (who was also in her place, but chose exile).

ALTERNATELY, as in the Matriculated episode, at the very end, when the machine reached out for friendship with the human female protagonist…. She screamed and looked very afraid. It doesn’t explain this, even though this was something the humans had been trying to do… ie make friends with the machines. This of course, assumes she (Trinity) is human, and her HELL is realizing she loves a computer (her sworn enemy)…. Can she get beyond this, a la Romeo and Juliet????

Also note that when the character dies, a major upgrade is noted. Neo dies, and WHAM…SUPERMAN. Agent Smith dies, and WHAM…. SUPERVIRUS. Now, Trinity dies, and we learn she must make a journey thru hell to save Neo. She must have been seriously upgraded. This is Neo’s second “death”. I expect him to have another MAJOR upgrade…. As in finally escaping the matrix to see the real world perhaps… or maybe finally expressing TRUE FREE WILL, LOVE, EMOTION, SACRIFICE…. Ie all it is to be human. Could Neo finally become human????????

Yes… the classic Pinocchio / Star Trek’s Data story (with a sprinkle of Romeo and Juliet / West Side Story). It’s the final frontier for machinekind… the last upgrade: to be like their creator… “human”

woah, I completely forgot about the spoon. When Neo first meets the Spoonkid, they are inside the matrix, now the only possible way that Neo could get the spoon outside the matrix, was if Zion is also a "matrix" of sorts.

As for Neo's upgrades, I agree with that one too, if you have watched any of the trailers, you will see that he is getting the hang of stopping things in zion, like he did with the sentinels.

Im not so sure about Trinity's upgrades though, I think she might just become mentally tougher, but not physically.

People! Spoons exist in both worlds. The budha spoon-bender just gave KID a spoon that he was using to eat his cereal with. IT WASN'T THE SAME SPOON. All Spoon-bender was trying to do was remind Neo that he could control himself and the Matrix.

so true... so true... the spoon thing is looked into WAY to deeply. It was just a reminder from the kid... possibly telling Neo that he has been freed.

Why ?
I believe that the Zion spoon is just an ordinary spoon. Maybe Neo has made a friendship whith the orphan and now the orphan want send good luck to neo.
The spoon is dirty, not bended. Probably because in Zion all spoons are old and improvised with garbage material - there is no spoon factory in Zion.

I believe that many things are put to make us believe zion is another matrix, which I dont believe. The spoon, the emp from neo, the almost-dejavu scene in zion. I didnt see any real evidence for MWAM theory.

why am I here ? Same reason :

Many people argue about Zion being a dream world, I was readin the quotes from Kianu Reeves and his view of Zion as "THE BLINK OF VISHNU"
Vishnu sits on a lotus flower and every time he opens his eyes the universe and his inhabitants, demons and gods are created, when he closes his eyes the entire universe is destroyed and then he opens his eyes again and so on and so forth.

I think Zion IS a dream world, because I also beleive Neo was DESIGNED to combat SMITH and the MEROVINGIAN.
"I have survived your predecessors!" "I will survive you!" it seems the Merovingian is a very powerful program who wants control of everything, and now with the help of Smith he can finally do it.

The machines manipulated "the real world" killing the VIGILANT's crew (Morpheus speech also stranghes this theory) forcing Trinity to go into the matrix, which force Neo to take the LEFT DOOR. Architect "We already know what you're going to do, dont we?" IF he wanted Neo to take the RIGHT DOOR he wouldn't have shown to Neo the Image of Trinity falling which hadn't TAKEN PLACE YET in the matrix when Neo was talking to him. He was just telling Neo what he needed to hear as the oracle did on the first movie.

NOW the counter:
As much as I like my theory I have to point out a couple of problems:

The Merovingian had plans for the Keymaker
-To Use his keys to enter the source.
-Smith has somehow gained access to all the backdoors.
-The keymaker is no longer necessary -???????????-
I still cant make sense of that.

Hold on a sec.... r u implying that the machines (ie matrix) and humans have ALREADY formed a pact (...long ago, after the war perhaps) and that they are already co-existing for many years.... and this whole Zion and Rebels etc is just a way of policing the matrix from wild are rogue programs such as Merovingian and/or Agt Smith??

That would make Neo an unwiting and unknowing "cop" of the machine-human partnership. This can be possible since the first pact between human and machine might have read as follows:

"Since we humans and machines cannot survive without each other, it is hereby agreed that humans shall become the sole source of power for the machines, in order for the machines to keep us alive and in health, both physical and mental. As such, the machines are not to allow any human to see the real world in all its destroyed gory and sunless skies until the day that the sun does come out and a life outside the matrix is possible."

of course, the reason for this self-imposed exile or imprisonment would be to protect and shelter the future human generations from the insanity of what was done in the war against the machines.

therefore, the machines do all they can to keep us sane in the matrix, while the humans help the machines with their rogue programs.

yeah yeah yeah ... thoery full of holes etc, but upon reading the above post, this is what came to mind... interesting, i think.

Here is a more complete quote from KeaNeo Reeves:

However, those surprises are all based in the film's reality. Nothing comes out of the blue. "I think in terms of the representation of the films, the brothers don't tend to do things like that, like hood-wink you. It's not like 'I see dead people', where you are watching this whole movie and then by the way… I don't think they do that kind of cinema. I don't think it is boxes within boxes. I think that Zion is Zion. But if you want to go: Is it the blink of Vishnu? Maybe. But in terms of literally and the world of the pictures, no."

So, Zion might be illusion, but no more than our world if it were on a 2-dimensional screen.
