Did anyone else see this, it was brilliant.

In case you missed it, there's a load of stuff on the channel4.com...
Basically this guy uses psychology to manipulate (and analyse) people and he does the most amazing "mind reading" type tricks.

He used a few words* to mess up a London Cabbie so that he couldn't find the London Eye - A dirty great big ferris wheel in the middle of London.

For anyone who doesn't know it, visit-london-eye.com... is not small, Every cabbie in London knows where it is.
visit-london-eye.com...

The guy's driving right by it saying "I know it's around here somewhere"

Best of all the Channel 4 Site explains how he did it and why it works.

* The words that put the wammy on the cabbie...

I've had such a stupid day. I've had this little toy car with this wheel on it, and lost the wheel and was just looking everywhere for this thing, looking everywhere for this stupid little wheel and couldn't find it and it was right under my nose all the time.

You know when you forget a name or a tune or something like that and you end up going 'round and 'round and you have not got a clue where it is or what it is.

The stuff on the site is spot on, it's a subject I've looked into before "Anchors" and "Triggers" and the way your brain associates memories.

Sure there are fakers about (Mr Blaine?) but the stuff this guys is using to back up his techniques is text book stuff.

Besides, you could see the cabbie was shitting himself, he knew he was on film and he knew he was lost, you just can't fake a look like that.

I haven't seen the particular one that you're referring to, but I have seen his stuff before. He must be trained very well in psychology and can read human expressions and body language to be able to do the things that he does. Cool

That's Ok, it was the first of (I think) four or six shows.

It's on again next week.

I've DVR'd it, but it'll be a bit big to e-mail.

I don't mind uploading a low res version to a site, but I don't have one (site that is).

Better view (left side of cab) as we turn the corner - The cabbie is turning right here still looking for that elusive wheel.

He's very good at what he does.
Have you any idea what qualifications, if any, he has or does he just have a natural talent? Cool

Tonights show(30th) was excellent, he taught some guy to count a load of smarties in 5 seconds! he was spot on at 40. Drawing that building behind him while using the guy infront of him's eye movements was outstanding!

i do like derren browns shows

although i think his russian roulette one was a bit rubbish in its approach

riviting viewing though...playing russian roulette live on tv with a gun that had the chambers covered so he couldnt see where the bullet was...it was the selection of the person who would load the gun that was the entertaining part...he done all his usual mind tricks to find someone who was very accepting of his thoughts..

A MAJOR,FULL ON BRONSON

OK, a summary of tonights show;

He put a wallet stuffed with cash on the pavement of one of the busiest streets in London. He drew a yellow chalk circle around it and left.

The wallet stayed there all day and no-one touched it.

He got a Conductor (the musical type) to pick three tunes from about 300 and conduct as if he was conducting an Orchestra. Derren identified the tunes after about twenty seconds.

He talked to a Drama Student for about a minute after which the student couldn't see him. He did the invisible man thing with the bandages and the guy was shocked.

He taught a girl to mind read in about 30 seconds after which she got a total stranger's address just by touching his temples.

He got the same conductor (from earlier) to pick a tune, write it down and then think of it with his hands tied behind his back. A small orchestra then started playing randomly. After a while, a tune starts to emerge which is the tune the guy thought of.
