Well, as I've said, I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with the shells.

Me theory is that it's not just a Matrix design: make my agents beatable... but just an inherent feature of the Matrix. My reasoning is based largely on the Merovingians subjects. Just notice how "skilled" they are in the Matrix as welll.

I think that many people look at the Matrix as just a trap for human beings. That the architect is just in complete control of the whole system. That when a machine enters the Matrix, he is , just like Neo, able to see the whole ruse and the code and all that stuff. Like they can just waltz into the Matrix with almost no affect placed on them.

But that's not the case. Just look at the machines in Reloaded. I think one of the major complaints from dissenting critics, etc., about the Matrix Reloaded was that the human heroes seemed more like machines (Neo kicking but with his cool straight face, Trinity looking like a fem-Neo clone, etc.) and that the machines... seemed so human. I think one of the major points about Reloaded was that for all the genius and effort the machines put into the Matrix, and all the traps and controls they've set in place to keep humans asleep... they've kind of gotten cut up in the current as well. The Matrix's reality doesn't just fool humans -- it fools machines too. That means even the Agents go into the Matrix without really "escaping the rules" completely.

Take Agent Smith as a prime example. Is he just given programmed super powers that have a limit... or does he just happen to have a working knowledge of the Matrix, just like the rebels do? The machines have conscious in this movie. They are not just PC's... they are super logical living entities practically. They feel.

Agent Smith complains to Morpheus that in the Matrix, he feels trapped. He says he can practically smell the stink. It's like a zoo. This scene isn't just him saying "hey, i'm trapped in a box!" He's saying that even he "feels" things in the Matrix. It affects him emotionally (however machines can do that). The presence of humans inside... he can feel it and sense it, just like humans do in a cognitive sense.

The Merovingian... come on, one minute he's talking about the Matrix being under his control, and yet you can clearly see that he's practically been enthralled by the Matrix itself. He's not just escaping whatever trouble he might be in from the Machine World - he's obsessed with the feelings and emotions that he can toy with. Club Hel is not just his "hideout" but a place where sexual exploration and desire is full tilt. And those people aren't all humans... most of them, if not all, are machines. They're trapped just like humans. Subject to the same rules.

I've never believed in the theories that claimed that Neo et al are endowed with special code that allows them to break rules. I think that certain machine programs have a special code that allows them certain abilities, but it has little or nothing to do with bending the rules. For instance - an Agent can transfer into human avatars. This isn't breaking the rules... it's supposed to work that way. But dodging bullets, etc - I see that as the Agent's understanding of where he is. He too, like Morpheus and the rest, understands that the Matrix is not real. But perhaps because of his thinking patterns, he's more able to bend the rules than a human can. Remember, machines are awful efficient at some things.

Yet other machines do no exhibit these same abilities. Not every machine person in Club Hel could just whip out into "super kung fu" mode. Not every program or machine's purpose was designed to give them the "spirit" of fighting. I highly doubt that someone like Sati is going to be wearing tight black leather and holding flipping off walls with two pistols at the ready.

But that's how I see it. I think the virtual construct is so thick, so full of emotion and closeness to reality, that when machines enter in their human forms... they too get caught up in the dream world, even if they knew before hand that the whole thing wasn't real. Because choice was programmed into the system, sometimes the coding perameters simply aren't sophisticated or even capable of denying the urge or the thought from a certain person. Hence Agents with their single minded determination to elminate threats to the Matrix. They are completely dedicated to fighting, and so they bend the rules exceptionally well in that area. But they can't build keys like the keymaker, or make sunrises. They don't think that way. They were never programmed too. And they rarely choose to do it.

im saying that the matrix should create a special shell for the agents that is indestructible and since its is a virtual reality it can teleport ne where it wishes, and do anything, even tho that would really suck for the rebels, and would spoil the movie, im sayin y didnt they just do that?

They don't get a shell because of the speed thing that someone else said. The reason they couldn't teleport with this shell is the same reason Neo can't. It's a ll code, to get from one part of the code to another, you have to travel through the code inbetween. The humans are like shortcuts on your computer, click it and go rather than having to look up the program (area int he matrix) click the shortcut(access the pod). I just came up with that, but I like it.

Flip a coin. Choose heads or tails but, if you knew every variable, there would be no choice, only an answer. That is how the Architect works.

Nice analogy. Smile

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star. Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will see
How fragile we are. How fragile we are.
