»Revolutions Title Sequence«

I bought The Matrix Revolutions DVD and I noticed that the weird orange explosion and code that many people have claimed to be a set of Mandlebrot fractals, although it's uncanny similarity, is nothing else than the combustion that takes place inside a car engine. If you have the DVD, take a close look and you will see.

Picture isn't working. I dont have the DVD yet, but when I get it I will be sure to look. Im pretty sure they were fractals.

You're right....they are fractals, but once the camera starts to zoom out, you'll see that the orange fractal sequence happens inside a car. And since the fractals in the sequence begin with an explosion, it is very accurate to say that they take place inside an engine.

Yes, Starts out like fireworks, energy exploding out. Then zooms out to a vehicle (didn't notice before) on a street between two buildings. Is this where Neo and Smith finally face off ?

Yeah, the whole opening scene is the super city in matrix code, then at the end of the sequence they show zoom out and there is a single symbol, looks like the Texas Longhorns sign, that is the shape of the whole super city.

Yes...you're right, Mega City is shaped like that symbol. And this symbol is the symbol used for a hacking tool called BackDoor. I'm pretty sure I saw a screen capture of that program somewhere in this forum....I'll try to find it and post the link here.

Hmm, backdoor. That sounds familiar.

I just thought about this. Is is possible that the explosion could be the building that Neo flies out of in M2. I know that the timing doesn't match up, but is it possible that they are showing events that happened before the start of M3?

It wasn't backdoor after all. It's called Back Orifice. Sorry

No I'm pretty sure its the car. The code is definitely near the car and not near any building.

There is so much information here and I am not going to try and explain it all, you are going to have to see it for yourself.

A revolution has happened inside the Matrix, and Neo/One is the carrier of its meaning. He can ‘feel them’ more now and begins to understand. He then takes that understand from a ‘seed’ or beginning onto its final destination.

This one sounds kinda cool. The orange explosion could definitely be Neo´s code. Good one.

I dont think that is what he is trying to say. He is speaking symbolically. Neo represents the Revolution.

I suppose this could be a little confusing. To clarify, I wasn’t suggesting that the ‘explosion’ happened while in the car, but is symbolic to what’s already happened. Although it is possible the exact point at which Neo realises the anomaly’s deeper meaning could be as he re-enters the Matrix in a different form/code saying ‘I cant leave yet’.

Anyhow, the path has led to and is leading to a Revolution of which Neo is representative and that’s the point of the ‘explosion’.

And yes it could be the Code/Anomaly as Neo is its ‘carrier’

if you read into it, neo's true awakening=the explosion it seems to be true...
go back in time to when neo first went to visit the oracle with morpheus, he said he could only show him the door, he had to open it...every other time neo would wait to be contacted by the oracle, this time HE decides he needs to see her. that explosion could be him finally taking the inititive to seek out what he must do, instead of waiting and being subliminally told how to do it...

The fractals do seem to coalesce into something that looks like DNA for at least a brief moment. I'm glad that somebody explained the symbol code right before the transition at the closing of the opening title sequence.

Somebody else here showed the shot of the map of Mega City. That it was the same shape as the Back Orifice colophon/glyph was probably no accident. Once again, we have the Wachowskis with their multiple meaning layers at work.

Funny you should mention DNA... I thought I saw a double-helix during the Super Burly Brawl, when they are flying upwards, between two buildings....

What if the initial sequence symbolizes what happened once Neo was taken over by Smith?

The gold code is the source that exploded into the matrix. Maybe it originated from the plug in Machine city - we have seen an impulse of something into Neo ... it could be the source code rewriting the underlying structure of matrix coding. Neo was the mediator - the fundamental change of matrix came through him.

It can also symbolize the unification of Machine world (gold code) with human world within matrix (green code) - the two worlds merged into one.

This challenges some theories flying here around (even my previous post on another thread, he he) ... but let's give it a try!

I know that, but the interesting thing is why they chose to shape the city that way.

after the explosion we go through all the orange lights and when we get to the end before it goes back up, we are looking down on machine city. Freeze frame this and and study the structure and then go to the section where trinity and neo just broke through the clouds above machine city and are falling back down. You will notice the same circular patterns.

Thus, we see the power source of machine city, then the city itself, and then zoom back out to look at mega city in the matrix which is just as grain of sand in an ocean of code.

... and the "ocean of code" is .... what?
