»Is Neo dead or alive in the matrix? Photos«

I've been away for a while so I have no idea whether this has been brought to a close yet. By no means have I formed an opinion on this (being one of the supporters of the "Neo is dead!" argument). Yet this 'evidence(?)' remains.

this is the first time I've seen this brought up and I must say it's very interesting. One could say it's the two aspects, the first where he is in the mobil ave. being where he is realizing his powers outside the matrix, and the shot in the machine city where he is ending his powers and life, but I think that it's showing that his mind is trapped in the matrix or mobil ave.

I think his body is dead, but his entire mind has been absorbed by the Source. He glows when they carry him away, which means he is part of the Source.
We also know that the Source is the highest of rank when it comes to Artifical Intelligence.
I think Neo's mind is within the Source as an AI-program. I don't think he is active as a program yet, meaning he has not yet been compiled and given a shell. But his (source)code is within the Source.
It's a matter of getting him active again. But there would be no reason to do that...yet!

When Smith joined Neo, the anomaly-factor was complete. Negative and positive together equals zero.
We see in the movie that the Source only stops using Neo when all the Smiths are gone.
This is because the Source is using Neo's mind/body to send the zero-value through the Matrix.
Thanks to the zero-value, the negative One cannot exist on his own anymore, so all the Smiths dissappear from the scene.

Neo (half of his mind is Smith now) returned to the Source. That's why his body glows now.
My bet is that he is still resides as code within the Source. His body is definetly dead though.

maybe his mind has been scattered around the Matrix, so a part of Neo will always be a part of the system. maybe Smith was included in this too. Then it would almost be like the yin and the yang of the system, balancing each other out.

so mobil his body is dead but his spirt thingi lives on so he could take over a host like an agent (other than smith)

I don't think so.
I think it symbolizes true enlightment. He has entered 'heaven' as an angel. That's why you see the symbol of three wings around him when they carry him away.

I also like the thought that Splintey posted. Maybe the joining of Smith and Neo balanced the Matrix forever. The choice of good and/or evil elements have now been implemented in each variable of the equation.
The total of variables in the equation represent 50% good and 50% evil; the ying-yang-balance like Splintey stated.

no the balance couldnt be zero after neo dying because when the oracle gets cloned the equasion would have been balanced by the architect

Huh? WHAT? When did she get 'cloned?' Are you referring to the Smith/Oracle? Who says that the Architect didn't get Smith-ed, either? Maybe he did, but I'm thinking not, because he's in his own little domain that's parallel to the Matrix, and only the One can get in there. AKA the Negative-One can't. Besides, it's almost like an act of suicide. The Oracle sacrifices herself, but she unbalances the equilibrium of her and the Architect. I can just imagine him cussing at her!

I thought it made since for Neo to be dead because once The One and the Anti-One die, the equasion is balanced so there is no longer a need for either of them. But I don't know...

ive just come up with an idea that neos mind is a program that has inhabited a body (just like smith when he clones someone) so when he dies that program goes into the scource and becomes part of the matrix and also how does everyone get freed because the machines would run out of power

Maxius, that's what I thought too, and it's probably the most likely answer, but this sounds cool, too. But one things for sure, neither are inhabiting their 'bodies' anymore.
