Does anyone know why Bane (after smith assimilated him) engraves the Pi symbol onto his hand?

Can you be sure that Bane was cutting pi into his hand? When I look at it he just has two parallel lines. Not a pi symbol. So why is this even being discussed. Yes this movie has a lot of deep intertwined meanings, but sometimes people look into something too much and don't just take it as they see it.

No. We're positive it was pie. Two lines of the pie were made and the other would be made later.

And can you tell me how you know for sure? Did you co-write the script or something? Are you really Andy or Larry Wachowski? No, I don't think so. So don't say you're certain when you cannot know that for a fact. If I draw two lines next to each other does that mean I'm going to draw the pie symbol? No it doesn't. I might, but how can you be cetain? You can't. So wait till you know something for a fact before you start discussing something.

Cal31 does have a good point, but I think you might have gone a little overboard. Indeed, all we saw was two parallel lines drawn, but Bain/Smith was going to "write" more on his hand if it wasn't for Neo and the others showing up walking down the hall.

I personaly think Smith hated the fact of being inside of a human body and was mutilating it for that reason. You do recall Smith's speech of the "stench" of humans.

Anyway, I think the pi theory maybe be right, but not to brag, I think my theory sounds more accurate.

yeah I'm sorry, it's just when someone says they know that he was going to write that, when they can have no possible way of knowing, just got me a little worked up lol. I know, I love looking into the deeper meanings of things, but I also know that somethings just are the way they are.

I'm sorry if I seem ignorant, but I looked at it, and I swear I just saw two lines.
But, if he really DID draw a pi, that might foreshadow his capture of Trinity.

Nor necessarily. Yes and no. All humans naturally think nothing is wrong with them and they think they are right most of the time. It is only when other people prove something wrong and they all find truth together through their explanations, perceptions, and...posts. Things work as whole, not by one.
