if you click on "matrix pictures" from the top right of the main menu then click on the first option "scenes from the matrix films" or something like that

and then look at the picture of neo standing in the merovingians hallway

the picture depicts what appears to be judgement day with the merovingians symbol where god should be

WHAT CAN IT MEAN?

I think its just that thing of the Merovingian and power. He wants more power and he wants to exercise that power.

Also, does Satan have anything to do with Judgment Day? If so, that explains it because Merv is supposed to be a devil figure. What about any secret societies? Does the Holy Grail, the Priory of Sion or anything like that have to do with Judgment Day?

This is a very interesting question.

Does 'The New World Order' spring to mind?

I've read much about them and Opus Dei. They have their fingers in many pies....

I beleve this to be a image from gnostic christianity.

The gnostic christianity says the God i the old testament (OT) is not the same as God in the new testament (NT).

They say that in GT, God is the serpent (Satan) which gave the knowledge of salvation to Adam & Eve. They say that God (in OT) is a evil, despotic, violent monster, and that the serpent is God. They say that Jesus was the messenger from this serpent god.

They say that God = Satan, Satan = God.

Merovingian is the owner of the "hell club". He is than a Satan (God in OT), and that's why he wants a apocalypse - he want to win. He wants war.

This is my thoughts on this.

It may meen judgement day for Merv's suite - all killed by Neo. Isn't it that Jesus at this day is going to fight all the demons?

Or it can be a judgement day for this version of matrix - that the new world is going to evolve.

The movie suggests multiple Gods for different realms. Trainman is for the subway (he says to Neo - Down here, I'm God). Deus Ex is of the machines. At the club hell, I guess, Mero is “The God” of the judgment day.

Yah in a way NEO is a god for the people of zion, and the architect is the god of the matrix.

Die Fledermaus

This is a possible reference to Rennes-le-Chateau.

Not just possible, it IS a reference to Rennes-le-Chateau. The Merovingian's chateau looks like it.

Yeah, I figured. Also the devil reference could refer to Asmodeus, the Keeper Of Secrets. There is a big statue of this demon in Rennes-le-Chateau with a caption that translates out to "This Place Is Terrible." It is rumored that secrets proving a connection between the Merovingians and the bloodline of Christ were concealed there, and are still hidden there.

Heh, the "Demon of Lust." Sound like anyone we know? Wink

This was not me. I do not take credit for the following. Another poster wrote this

Quote:

Glutony - "I drink too much wine, I must take a piss."

Lust - The episode where Persephonie tells (a vampire or something) that the Merovingian can be found in the women's bathroom, also "She wasn't kissing your face, my love"

Pride - "Mark my words, boy, and mark them well. I have survived your predecessors, and I will survive you."

Anger - Anger at Persephonie, and also trying to kill Neo most of the way through Reloaded

Greed - "The Keymaker is mine and I see no reason why I should give him up. No reason at all" - Also just look at his excessive lifestyle and collections of various programs, all just being hoarded for his own benefit.

Envy - A bit of a harder one, perhaps "Ok, you have some skill" or somthing from Revolutions, perhaps wishing to have the foresight of the Oracle, and willing to have her killed for it.

Sloth - Did you ever see the Merovingian take up a gun or blade and fight him himself? "These fellas work for my husband, they do his dirty work."

To Die Fledermaus- Yes, the Merovingian is also the keeper of secrets in the Matrix. Who is this Asmodeus you refer to?

To Akshat: Asmodeus was a demon of lust, or rather, an incubus. I don't have the time to get more information, however, I found deliriumsrealm.com... a few months ago and bookmarked it.

Hope that helps!

Could you tell? *laughs*

Actually, I was discussing possible origins for the Exiles with one of my cowriters, and she brought up an interesting point: that the Twins reminded her of Castor and Pollux from Greek mytholgy -- more commonly known as the constellation Gemini.

Uncle Ben

More on that as the discussion continues, I promise.
