how does someone become an moderator? another smith? grendelvs? they were normal users last time i looked!

I enjoy breaking-up the disagreements.

I enjoy being my alter-ego here.

Mods also can move posts, split posts and send posts to the redundants if necessary.

I've found over the 8 months I've been here I have contributed a hell of a lot - not just posts. I've made many friends, which has been one of the best things about this site...And we have an excellent Admin, Knn , who is always willing to listen to your suggestions and comments...Best Matrix-Family in Cyberspace

Especially since we have probably over 1000 people, and 5 or 6 of them happen to be moderators. I mean, JEEZ, what were those guys thinking? *sarcastic*

take the mods away from the posting and you and up with a handful of newbies who most of which will drift away as they did after the cinema release

and an even smaller handfull of regular non mod posters like me

and they even wanted to make me a mod too

I'm not saying that's a BAD thing (you a moderator), but I think that you're overreacting. It's FINE, and it's a huge site, so it's not like we don't NEED it.

Many of the loyal members. I've also noticed that members tend to drift away and return...

I think making mod is the admins way of saying thankyou for all the input into the site.

Right now there are 33120 posts in this forum.
If you suppose that posts by moderators themselves don't need moderating anymore then you have still 23'000+ posts which are made by non-moderators. In other words: Each one of the 7.1 moderators (7 moderators+1 admin) has approx. 3000 posts to moderate.

I don't think we have too many moderators. However I want to check how things turn out and will not add new moderators so soon anymore.

although i think i would make a good moderator...now is not a good time for me

perhaps in mid june when my exams are over then yes...but posting takes up enough of my time as it is
