[Matrix Revolutions]
Bane/Smith: "I admit, it is difficult to think, encased in this rotting piece of meat. The stink of it filling every breath, a suffocating cloud you can't escape. [spits blood] Disgusting! Look at how pathetically fragile it is. Nothing this weak is meant to survive."

maybe i should change my avatar....it's so stern and people keep thinking that i'm always serious when i'm posting....leading to misunderstandings....and that's not good.

I love the Matrix but i must say TLOTR trilogy is better and more consistant throughout. The Matrix was a work of genius and i am still in awe of the standard it set for film making. I just cant help but feel Reloaded and Revolutions were just a weak plot with a tonn of money thrown at them. Almost like the Wacko bros never expected the first one to be the phenomenon it turned into and just threw the plot together in haste for 2 and 3! Still liked them though Whitelaugh

The W. bro had the whole story in mind from its beginning to end. M2 & M3 wasn’t an add on, nor was Animatrix.

Unfortunately, most people don’t understand what they are looking at when they watch the Matrix story. In order to discover its true meaning, you have to get involved in thinking and feeling a lot deeper about it. Also if you haven’t really understood the Second Renaissance you wont have a clue.

Everything in revolutions, and I mean everything is significant and has a much deeper meaning. And I can tell you when you discover just how deep the rabbit hole goes it will BLOW YOU AWAY and break you to pieces.

The Matrix is genius, an enigma of Reality.

The Matrix story/theory was taken from a work by Sophia Stewart and other sources (Dark City ect) Reloaded and Revolutions are 'add-ons' to this film, not continuations. The Second Renaissance/Animatrix is just background/filler stories for the films. If the Wacko bros had these in mind from the start i'll be damn suprised! The trilogy is great and i love it, but it's more of an 'accidental trilogy based on the sucsess of the first film.

I think the whole story was planned beforehand. Apart from the oracle changing body of course. I think most of the animatrix was an add-on because the stories were not written by the Wachowskis. The basic ideas for the Second Renaissance were planned out beforehand though - the Wachowski's had BI66ER planned before The Matrix movie, for a start!

What has Sofia Stewart got to do with it? If the matrix was based on her work, why did she send it to them in the first place? Sounds like she was a bit careless to me....

I don't know if it's the best trilogy, but it's definitely one that made me step back and think. And any movie that keeps me trying to figure out things months after I've seen it has gotta be good.

The only thing that isn't a lie in that post is ummm, I couldn't find anything.

After some of the discussions on this forum I myself had begun to doubt the quality of the two sequals, but after purchasing Revolutions on DVD and finally getting to see it once more, all of my doubts are cleared. The Matrix trilogy (world?) is a work of art; even though Enter the Matrix still annoys me slightly...

Exactly. People saw it once in theatres, it confused them, so they blew it off and called it crap. It really takes multiple watchings to fully sink in. And once it does, you should realize as I did, it is a beautiful conclusion to the best trilogy of all time.
About Enter the Matrix, and I'll include Animatrix, it pisses me off that they put so much important information in a video game and animated short stories. Although it's better than not releasing that info to the public at all. I played the game, and I must say the game itself was just an annoyance in between the vital cutscenes. And the Animatrix was good to watch, but I really don't like animation. However, neither of these shadows the trilogy as a whole, so I really can't complain.

The Matrix has you...
