First post...be gentle Neutral

Not sure if any here have heard of NLP, but there have been many similarities drawn between the first film (and subsequent films) and about what NLP teaches.

There are comments avaliable on the web by a well known NLP trainer and author which you may find interesting.

Here you go.

Have fun.

P.S. The first film was the best by far IMO.

Ok I just read the first two sentences and the article is allready flawed. The Matrix wasn't reloaded after the end of the first film. IT CANT RELOAD until Neo chooses the door to the Source. The reason the movie is called `Reloaded' is because we learn that there were many versions of the Matrix and that they have to be reloaded.

The rest is good.

NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. Do a google search and you will find loads of stuff.

Basically, the MATRIX is real, although not as computers controlling humanity, but rather we have been programmed by the things around us...TV...newspapers...inetrenet...family etc.

Also, what we percieve to be reality or even what we believe in, is based on false presuppositions.

e.g. the colour red is only called that because we have all (as a race) agreed to it. Show someone from the amazon forest the colour red, however, and he will have a different name for it and understanding.

It is not menat as a critique of the film, rather an understanding of how flawed our senses are, and how we can change them.

Interesting to some, and not others I guess.

(Incidentally, NLP can cure lifetime phobias in under 10 minutes! Scared of heights? Easy to change)

Sounds a bit like BF Skinners experiments.

ship.edu...

He has theories on operant conditioning and even placed his daughter in a box for experimentation

As for the articles above They are full of flaws such as M2 matrix being reloaded and the Oracle bieng an exile. In addition they are full of spelling and grammer errors. Not what I would expect from a Dr.

What are your thoughts on NLP and the Matrix?

Take that one step further. What if the color we look at is a diferent color for each of us but we call it red because that is what we are told it is called. I may see green and you may see blue when we look at something reflecting a certian wavelengh of light but we both call it red. In actuality it is the wavelengh we are identifying (non-corporeal) and not the physical manifestation of that color. That concept makes the physical world very subjective.

Thoughts?

Basically, that's what Mouse explained in M1, when he said that technically, a machine could not know the taste of a chicken.... and thus, they will never be sure of what is the real chicken's taste.

Neo:"there is no spoon"
Merovingian:"there is no lipstick!"

we ARE living in a programmed reality

Correct...our reality is what we percieve, subjectively.

To put it into Matrix speak...we are living in a programmed reality. Those who manage to break free and explain it to others are commonly outcasts or ridiculed.

Also, those who are free of the system, can develop heightened abilities, and able to change themselves (such as using time distortion to only need 3 hours of sleep and yet awake refreshed, become a qualified pilot in 5 days etc.), and also change others. See speedseduction.net for a (IMO) vulgar demonstartion of these influencing skills.
