this thread is not for posting entire remake ideas but simply for scenes you have made up that would help explain the matrix a bit better

my idea

after neo is freed from the trainstation by trinity and he goes to see the oracle...the oracle tells him that he must meet with the merovingian again in order to find out the truth about his own purpose...

he enters the matrix at a point when smith has taken over everyone bar the people/programmes who are barrackaded in club hel...neo flies over the area and from the sky he can see thousands and thousands of smiths laying seige outside....

using his powers he flies straight down through the car park and smashes into club hel in bullet time before landing in his cool squat position that he does when he flies...the ground ripples and a huge blast wave knocks all the people around the aera where he lands into the walls and each other...

neo stands up and see's the merovingian on his balcony...the mero then commands all the people/programmes in club hel to annihalate neo...a big huge fight ensues in which neo kick everybodys ass and at the end when there is only the merovingian and persephone left...neo looks up at him and demands to know the truth about who and what he is...

at this point the smiths start smashing in through the walls and doors and begin to assimilate all the people that neo has just beaten the crap out of. before neo can be told...he turns and see's what is going on and flys back up through the ceiling and to safety...

the merovingian is left cowering in club hel as the smiths close in around him...it is here that a discussion between smith and the merovingian reveals what exactly the merovingian was before he became an exile...smith then assimilates him and the film carrys on as where neo wakes up in the hammer...

A MAJOR,FULL ON BRONSON

The only thing I would've really like to see was little previews of Smith taking over people. Maybe that would've slightly satisphied the people who bitched about the majority of the film being outside the Matrix. It would've also given us a sense of exactly what was going on in there, rather than just seeing the code all screwy and assuming Smith ran mad. But you really can't add too many scenes or take too many away from these movies.

The Matrix has you...

I thought I had replied. Guess not. Well, I honestly liked it. They should have shown Smith spreading all over.

Good afternoon 'the anomaly'.

Interesting: I like it. Smile

I too would have liked to have seen more of Smith vs the People & Programs of the Matrix as he assimilated them into his collective.

I like the idea of Smith and Merovingian having a discussion which could lead to the possibility that he himself was an agent of the system which somehow broke the shackles of the system and became who he is today.

Many a good subpot could be built on a scene like you've discribed.

Very good stuff indeed! Smile

Thank you for sharing it. Smile

I guess you haven't heard anomaly's theory about the original purpose of the Merovingian. Its really good and fits in quite well. He thinks that the Merovingian was the original program created to discover `why' the 1st and 2nd matrix versions failed. Thats why he talks about cause and effect all the time. His job was to find the cause of the matrix failing. Remember, Merv talks alot about Why being the only source of power, without it we are powerless. But he did not succeed it his task and was probably marked for deletion. But he said `Why' do I have to go back? I'll hide in the Matrix. So he became the first exile and created an underground empire in the matrix.

No I haven't read that yet.

I thought an ex-agent was good, but this is just fantastic.

It certainly does fit well.

Kudos again are extended. Smile Thumbup

the idea was generally this

the merovingian was initially a programme designed to investigate the cause behind the effect of the first matrix collapse

while he was doing this there was another programme that was investigating the human psyche(yes...the oracle)

the merovingian was plauged by failure in his attenpts at finding "the reason...the why" behind the matrix collapsing

the oracle stumbled across a solution as the architect described and so the oracle replaced the merovingian and took his purpose

this is why i think he is so pissed off at her and why he says

"you tell her that if you take something from me,you will pay the price"

what she took was his purpose and this is why he is now an exile

for me too, except: who is persephone then? (persephone=goddess of fertility -> mother?)
maybe after mero persephone had to find the matrix-flaw, she analyzed and found out: the chosen ones just need an oracle which blinds them, tells them "yes, great, you found out that itīs all a fake. now you have to do this and this and then we all will be saved". so persephone was the mother, and the oracle was the solution!

posting this idea on another thread (discussing persephones role) i had following ideas:
if the oracle was the solution, simply a program which knows something about logic (architect), causality (mero) AND emotions (persephone), this would put the solution over the father, the mother, and the "devil" (because she knows what those three know). the most powerful program (with the SIGHT), but not the mother.. persephone found the solution and was no longer needed, she became an exile and followed mero. on the other hand, the architect states that the solution was found rather casually by a program designed to study human psyche. so they didnīt give persephone the job to find the solution, and so it wasnīt her purpose to find the solution, and so there was no reason to become an exil after finding it. same for mero then.
another problem is, that the solution including the oracle (as i understood) is not the 99%-solution, but the 100%. the 99% is bringin in choice (believing neo). i think ZION was that final choice (because not everyone CHOSE zion to the matrix, like cypher e.g.) humans needed to get the 99%. and the final 1% (the neos, trinitys, morpheuss) were controlled by the oracle. so if persephone found out the 99%-solution (=choice, she always speaks in "choices"), then who found out the ORACLE-solution (100%)?

Persephone's job was to explore the sexual behavior of humans. After she did that, Merv thought he could *cough* use her *cough* and persuaded her to join him. Thumbup
