I changed my mind. . .

Jessica Alba as Trinity

and how 'bout Mandy Patinkin as the Merovingian

"Hello, my name is the Merovingian. . .you stole my keymaker. . .prepare to die." Cool

Smith can never be cast different. Hugo Weaving rules!
Only one person would come a litte close...

I was thinking about Clint Eastwood. The only drawback is that an agent-program cannot look this old and that the stunts would be a little too much for Mr. Eastwood (haha just imagine him in the burly brawl). But he would be perfect for a bittered agent.

I also was thinking about Al Pacino as counselor Hamman.

And what do you think about Anthony Hopkins as the Architect?

Whoopie Goldberg for the Oracle is a good thought. But I have to agree she is not old enough yet.

Gasp! Actually Malkovich would make a good Smith -- they're currently showing the french version of Les Miserable and he plays the implaccable Inspector in it (looks good in a leather coat). But he might also have made a good Architect.

Judy Dench might have made a better council member in Zion, than Oracle. She already shows that she can exude authority as "M" in the Bond films (and as Elizabeth in "Shakespear in Love").

How about the actor who plays "Monk" (TV detective show) as Smith?

I'm thinking here that it'd be a Smith with lots of strange quirks -- he'd come in, arrange all your CDs in alpha order and then "lay down the law" to you. Wink

i agree with judy dench, i think she'd be a brilliant Oracle, i might have Angelina Jolie, or Jennifer Tilly as Trinity though, and keep Neo as Keanu, and Smith could be Crispin Glover but keep morpheus the same Smile

John Malkovich could not be Smith.

He's a very good actor, don't get me wrong.
But he is much too crazy to make Smith believable.

now, after seeing Equilibrium, i think that Christian Bale would have been good in a Matrix role. and, he's diverse enough to fill almost any male role in his age range. and outside, if they wanted to do the makeup. heh.

Think of Samuel L Jackson as Morpheus...
Haley Joel Osment as the kid...
Jennifer Connelly as Trinity...
Chris Rock as Link (this one would be a funny one)...
Angeline Jolie as Persephone (hmm...sexy)...
Neo will still be Keanu and i agree that no other actor but Mr Weaving could ever be Smith... Smile

I am a fan of whoopi Goldberg, so she could have been the oracle. But, overall, i think that the cast was well chosen, overall.

Always the lord of the matrix info. Very Happy Not really, but i do have a website, check it out! Wink
