So you are leaning towards the upgrade idea now right? You say when you upgrade your OS, it requires the action of installing. So are you saying at the end, the matrix got upgraded through an install?

I don't remember anything in the transcript about Matrix being install? Reloaded yes, but not install .. englighten me..

Here's are some questions for both you guys to answer:

1) What exactly is the prime program? I know M4jor says that it's the suite of the big dudes (architect, oracle, etc. . .) But it could also be the Matrix itself. Or it could be the program that sets the natural and physical laws, the basics and fundamentals, and the program that set goals and prophecies, and how history will unfold. Remeber, every time a One is reinserted there is a new Matrix which presumably is improved over the last one.

2) What does "reloaded" mean? Does it mean reinstalled, like reinstalling windows on your computer? Or is it like resetting a video game like Sims? which is a good analogy. Say i was playing Sim City and I set up all these parameters and so forth. At some point the Sim City will grow unstable and crash. But I have a special character in the game that will reload the parameters (or new better parametrs) into a new game before it does crash. That's closer to a reloading than a reinstallation. However, they may have chosen "reloaded" because it sounds cooler and it has a double reference to computers and guns.

Anyway, what do you guys think? (and it's not irrelevant what you think, that's why the forum is called "theories. . .")

Bach, To me personally, it doesn't matter if we view it as reloaded or upgraded, installed or whatever as it won't change the fact that there were obvious changes in the end. As the oracle has said "Change always is" in reply to the architect's comment about the dangerous game she was playing.

Any one of those view is fine, because everyone perceives things differently.

Yeah, but I really like my Sims analogy! I often think that the Matrix is inspired by a Sims game gone awry. Can you imagine if you were playing Sim City and one of people started to blow up buildings and demand freedom?

"your purpose is now to return to the source...blah blah...diseminate your code blah blah...reinsert the prime programme"

the prime programme is the code neo carries being reinserted(as the matrix needs it to function)

"Reloaded"

Neo was mean't to carry out his function of The One, up to the point of choosing, he was going to Reload the Matrix. Hence "Reloaded"...you have to consider the "timeline"....the title of the movie preceeds the events on film...what happened at the end of the second film was the beginning of the revolution.

"Revolutions"

Plural.

The revolutions are all of the tings that never happened the first 5 times etc

I thinkwe know that....

The 'Prime Program' is not a distinctly identifiable program. Thats not what the Architect means.

'This will allow for a temporary dissemination of the code you carry re-inserting the prime program'.

Neo's presence in the system is degenerative and he causes the matrix to malfunction. Returning to the source (the door on the left) will remove Neo's coding from the Matrix and 'cleanse' it of his trace (at least until the 7th anomoly appears).

Re-inserting the prime program simply means to re-organise the matrix so that it starts to function properly again.

The prime program is the reletively glitch-free, stable and smooth operation of the system. To create a dream reality and process power from the humans.
