Black Crows

I was reading the comments about black vs white where is mentioned that the Oracle feeds black crows and the idea hit me. There is a saying in spanish tha says “CRIA CUERVOS Y TE SACARAN LOS OJOS”, that translate “RAISE CROWS AND THEY WILL PULL YOUR EYES OUT". It is interesting that she is feeding the crows when she is talking about the Merovingian, who in Revolutions wants the eyes of the Oracle in exchange for Neo. Coincidence? Would it be possible that she created and raised the Merovingian?

Thanks for posting this interesting bit of information, never seen this before.
We had the usual things about crows like they symbolise death, they sense the approach of evil before it actually arrives etc....
But this is interesting, Thankyou! Cool

I've heard this saying all the time, since I'm from Guatemala and my native language is Spanish. But I've never thought of this before. I don't think it was meant that way, but it's a very nice insight. Congratulations.

Actually, I think that's coincidental enough to be taken as intentional. I'd say that it is a message from the wachowski bros. It lends support to the Oracle being the Mother of the Matrix because it implies that she had a hand in creating and raising the Merovingian. It also gives us an idea on how old the Merovingian is. Older than Neo and some of his predecessors, but not as old as the Oracle. Excellent insight!

One more thing. . .

It's Smith who finally gets the Oracle's eyes and coincidentally he calls her "Mom" right before that. And Smith has that Crow Black thing going on too.

Well done, finally a new theory grounded in something substancial and generative enough to open new secondary inquisitions, although if we are to question whether this quote refers to Smith or the Merovingian, I think it must be Smith, who is foreshadowed by the presence of crows, and if he is it does not contradict any metaphors of crows representing death and destruction.

...it certaintly adds fuel to the "The Oracle 'created' the reborn Smith (via the cookie) (her dangerous game) to allow Neo to do what the others didn't" argument....

About the eyes of the oracle..

Remember when the merovingian is eating the olives off the stick, and he mentions that he wants the eyes of the oracle.

Is the merovingian implying that the oracle is greek?

because olives are a mediteranian dish..

and the funny thing is. the oracle is supposed to be black.

funny huh?

And the architect is meant to be a nazi, and nazis didnt like blacks.. so go figure

In India people believe crows are birds something like they know the future. When crow sits on roof of some house and shouts they strongly believe that some one is going visit their house, may be relatives, strangers. So in this context they foresee the future as oracle does.So probably the favourite bird of oracle should be a crow. She might be feeding them cos they know when agent smith comes. And also according to hindu mythology God Shani(saturn) is the god of mischief. The vehicle of god shani is crow.perhaps hindus believe where ever we find a flock of crows we can excpect some harm.So in the scene we see agent visiting that place. This is a good topic.

I'm not sure that it shows that she raised or created The Merovingian, But it does reinforce that she knew what was coming for her, including her part in the destruction of the virus smith. Smith appearing within the crows after she leaves points to him being one of the crows who will be taking her eyes.

the native american indians believed that crows/ravens were the carriers of souls to the next world, or afterlife. is it possible that the crows represent the lost souls that Smith had consumed.

And if i am not much mistaken, and dont quote me on this but is there not six crows that the orical is feeding as Neo is walking towards the park bench. Could this represent the previous six choosen ones.
