»Kid and the red pill«

Hello all. I am a fan of this site and many of the brain-scratching theories on it, and I have a question that I hope can be answered.

When Neo was offered the choice of the blue or red pill, we learned that the red pill was a tracking device so they could find his pod in the fields, right? So, what about the Kid?

If Kid was one of those anomilies who wake themselves up, the machines who tended the crops should have terminated him, right? How did he wind up in Zion without the red pill? Did I miss something in the Ani/Matrix films, or is this just another thing we will never know?

That is one of those few unexplained things and it still bothers me. We never did see the kid take the trace pill.

The only possibility I could think of is, the kid was on the phone with Neo in the classroom, and Neo warned him that agents were coming. I presume that Neo and the crew scour the sewage waste area right after that call, knowing that the kid can not escape the agents. May be the kid was lucky and his body was found.

Who knows. I'm sure someone out there may have a better possiblitity or explaination.

Perhaps the pill is not the only way out. The real question is, howelse would you get out? Maybe the answer to that question would be a better answer for the original question. However if it turns out that we cannot come up with another way out, then i guess we're screwed. lol

Maybe the pill is just a mental thing, like you make yourself believe that you are ejecting the matrix. That sometimes happens to me, like sleeping pills, they make you think that you are getting help to fall asleep, therefore, you fall asleep believing that they are helping you, when really, you just do it on your own. Idk, that's just my theory on some pills in my own matrix.

LOL. I'm pretty sure that sleeping pills actually do caontain a drug to help you sleep... but maybe a better example would be, telling a kid that they won't pee the bed if they eat crackers before they sleep, it doesn't do anything, but it makes them thnk it does. Also, i don't really think that could work since they need the pill to help find your location in the fields. The pill itself doesn't get you out.

Have any of you watched Animatrix?
The Kid self-realised himself out of the Matrix, he didn't need a Red Pill.

We know, we're trying to figure out HOW he did it then.

He simply didn't have to be told or shown what the Matrix was, he knew it existed, he freed his own mind...

Mabye the red pill just makes it easier to find the pod. they might be able to read thier signal in the matrix, trace it to the real world, and narrow it down to at least a general location. if this were true, then the crew of the neb could have either fly really fast through that general location looking for kid, or done a really hard hack to find his exact location, or something that im not thinking of cause im hungry right now. however, like many other matrix questions, I doubt that the answer lies in the story, we just have so sit around discusing bits and pecies of information until we, make up our own damn mind.

Sorry, Another Smith, I didn't elaborate on it. When I say it, I mean be found inside the sewers before drowning. If they span for hundreds of miles, the chances of being found are slim to none. Maybe the rebels have had a lot of practice finding people who reject the matrix due to the fact that they "have freed more minds in the past six months than in the past six years." There's a thought.

Yeah good point. you would think that the wachowskis would have thought of this.

1. They pinpoint their location, so the Neb crew knows where to go.
2. The Kid self ejected.
3. The machines tending the pods do not see the humans as alive. When they read them (the awakened humans), they only see them as a dead battery. That's why Neo wasn't killed by that machine in HIS pod. The Machine simple removed his plug.
