»Bane infecting«

I have not seen it discussed as significant, but when bane cuts his hand, after being interuppted by Kid, he does shake hands with Neo with the hand he cut- possibly infecting/ binding with him somehow in Zion / reality.

Bane can't infect anybody with Smith's virus system-override program in the real world. It can only be delivered through a Matrix interface.

i don't mean to b rude but he shook Neo with his other hand.

true, or else neo would have noticed the blood on his hand and commented on it

What is this hand blood stuff any way? Neo bleeds after a cut from a sword (at the Mero's "Motel") and Bane bleeds after a cut by a knife.

You see he is just a man?

I guess they had trouble implementing the bleeding-code in pure programs. Or programs think it is embarrasing to bleed?

But the agent (highway chase) bleeds, too.

i read from someone else, that bane cuts his hand because he is now facinated by his own mortality. now that he lives in a "living" body, his existence is tied to it. when he was just a program he obviously had some choice about whether to be deleted or escape to the backdoors. i think overall the cutting junk is just character development. smith/bane is now tied to a body, but still hell bent on killing neo. well, but not infront of anyone tho (which i don't understand).
if smith was planning on secretly infecting neo's body, and got interrupted by the kid, that could explain why smith tracks down neo in the matrix for the burly brawl. he's pissed he missed his first chance and tries to infect him inside the matrix.

Hhmm, you know, I think it may be yet another of Los Bros. Wachowski's pseudo Judeo-Christian mythosing. Remember in the early version of the script for Matrix I, they made a subtle joke denying the existance of Christ? Well, having Neo bleed could be interpreted as saying, "Even if he is The One, he's still a man, not a god." Plus, Catholic rituals often involve the blood of Christ and whatnot.

Could it possibly be that Smith/Bane was putting some nanotech on the tip of the knife and was going to stab Neo without killing him so that his nanobots could take over Neo's nanobots?

Maybe all humans are filled with nanobots when they are created.

Your comment brings to mind what the Architect mentions to Neo, that despite everything, he remains human.

Perhaps the Merovingian is surprised at Neo bleeding because he's surprised he is still human. Maybe his predecessors werent.

So Neo is completly different to his predecessors?
Maybe he already is a machine at the end of Reloaded. This could be a reason why he can stop the sentinels, or further why he is the only one who knows that this thingy the sentinel is throwing is a bomb.

just human. What I mean is maybe the One is supposed to be a sort of mediator between man and machine. Perhaps the previous Ones became more assimilated into the matrix and lost part or all of their human identities on their way to the source. Or something along those lines of thought.

Smith/Bane cutting his hand is a way that the directors have shown the change in Bane and the fact that Smith has become mortal and, mabey, also enjoys the emotions he is feeling.
If you don't know what I mean, watch Star Trek: Generations when Data is drinking some strange booze. He doesn't like it, but keeps drinking it because he can feel that he hates it and enjoys the new experience.

I think an important part throughout these movies is emotions felt by humans. Emotions give us purpose, form our choices and is essentially what seperates us from machines. It is obvious that neo is meant to be seen as human, he is madly in love with trinity and makes the choice to save her, risking everything. I think the architect was expecting neo to choose the other door, thinking neo was machine and would chose the logical, sensible answer to the problem, instead he makes a human choice, which resulted from his deep emotional connection to trinity. Also the agents of course show no emotions throughout the movies as they are computer programs, they are given a purpose and are meant to follow it, when agent smith makes reference to part of neo rubbing off on him, i think he is trying to show that he has become human, his purpose is no longer decided by what he is told to do, but by what he wants to do, what he feels. Just a few thoughts

OK. BANE has smith's mind now. but where is BANE's original mind ?
BANE was changed to smith. and bane was gone. but out of matrix there is BANE's alive body ? how can you explain that ?

Maybe Zion is Matrix, thus Bane could be a program and thus overwritten by Smith.
