»Could the people in the Matrix be clones?«

I know, it sounds stupid. but let me refrase it so it makes more sense: Could the people in the Matrix be clones of the people (as shown in the Second Renissance Part II) who were messed around with and done experiments on? Because after that, there was a concious matrix, and then after that, the officials and stuff agreed with the machines that they would give up their bodies if their minds were put in an ulternate reality (the Matrix). So it's possible that they took their genes, and then made lots of the same person, altering the DNA slightly each time. That would explain why after a while, everyone starts to look the same (when you travel from town to town to town).
