If the shell was RSI, why didn't the Merovingian change his shell when he was under Trinty's gun so he could escape ?
Why didn't the Oracle keep his same face ? Why could not she save all his data (she said to Neo that some bit were copied, other lost).

Seems like you misunderstood me. What I meant was that a program needs a shell to exist in the Matrix (or other digital environment). This is similar to the RSI of humans. You cant jump from shell to shell at will. The Merovingian tried to delete the Oracle's original shell but she found a new one.
