»How do you find Morpheus?«

In t he first movie, we see Neo searching for Moprheus. How did he know to searh for him? Did anyone tell him or did he just know to look for him?

Morpheus is probably a legendary figure in the hacker underworld, and known to authorities world-wide as a terrorist.

like how he knew who Trinity was.

If you own "The Matrix" DVD you can see that you can watch the movie anlong with the storyboards and the original script. On that script, on the scene where Neo meets Morpheus, It says that Neo knows Morpheus because he is a world famous hacker, and is honored to meet him.

also, if you play Enter the Matrix, it shows you that Morpheus and co, can be contacted through protected websites which they have set up. That explains why a lot of the humans that were freed from the matrix started out as hackers because they were able to crack these sites which gave them the first hints towards the existence of the Matrix. Like Morpheus says in Reloaded:

"We well know that the reason why most of us are here, is because of our affinity for disobedience."

When Neo sleeps before his screen, we see "news" downloading with headers like "terrorist morpheus" and with pics of Morpheus etc.

Detective Story on the Animatrix gives a little insight into Trinity as a famous hacker. Most of the characters are ofcourse previous hackers, alot of the comics give alittle insight into this aswell.

Az_ That statement is not even close....

Neo does not even know that he has the anomly code inside of him, nor does Morpheus. Neo does not even know about the Matrix until he gets the message on his computer from Trinity.

But anywho..

I know that morpheus is a famous hacker, I know that he and other rebels use dead drop websites, answering machines etc to be contacted, and i know that we see him in the search program on Neo's computer.

But i want to know what makes Neo out of all of the Hackers in the world, what makes Neo decide that this one particular Hacker, MORPHEUS, is the one that can help him answer his questions.

I believe this is where Morpheus’ symbolic meaning comes into play. He represents the heart of Zion’s hope, the Oracle says that... ‘were lost without him’, his name allures to ‘the god of dreams’ and he represents a choice to journey deeper or forget, like the choice.... ‘one of you is going to die’.

Your welcome, I find I make discoveries my self when putting things like this together, so we’ve both got something out of it.

Some answers are close up, while others are understood by standing back and feeling the overall picture.

its like every hacker (well real hacker) knows all about Kevin mitnick (i know about him but i cant spell his name ) and knows about Kevin russel, and the LoD and all the old skool names like "ghostknight" and them peoples. its all the same realy
