I am working on getting a unified theory for every aspect of the movies. This is gonna be hard but its gonna be one hell of a cool forum! everyone who looks at the forum should comment and together we can all crack the riddle of The Matrix!

Ok Here are the topics which i hope will lead to a Unified Theory...

- What is the source
- How can Neo stop the sentinals and see the Golden Aura.
- What is the Anomaly (what the architect was talking about)
- How can the Oricle (and Neo) see the future
- How did Neo arrive at Mobil Ave
- Why is Neo different to the other "ones"
- How did Neo come back to life in the first movie.

Ok If we can answer these questions then we will understand the Trilogy. If i missed any important points out then please tell me!

This took me quite a while to get clarified but i think it makes quite a lot of sence.

First of all the basics. What is the source.

The source is the machine mainframe. This is what the oricle tells neo. A mainframe is a central processing Unit (CPU). (according to dictionary.com!) This CPU is the consious of the machines. The machine consious is different to that of a humans consious. It is universal. It runs through everything connected to the machines. The machines think as a whole, not as individuals. The arcitect and the Oricle are programs created by the souce to run as part of the system.

When people are plugged into the matrix, their brains exchange nueral processes with that of the machine processes.

After experimenting on the human brain the machines learned how they could connect the human brain to their brain (mainframe) to use as power for the matrix. (this was in 2nd renaissance)

Therefore the thoughts and processes in the human brain can be interchangable with that of the machines. (how else can humans live inside a digital world without exchanging neural (analog) processes with that digital system?)

Neo, when hooked up to the matrix, is part of that digital world. His real world consious is changed into digital consiousness.

Neos life is the result of an anomaly caused by choice inside the matrix. "the anomaly is systemic - creating fluctuations in even the most simplistic equations." - Arcitect.

Because of an anomaly inside the matrix, Neo can change things which no one else can.

Him being "the one" is just the system controlling Neo, (who threatens the system), with a "prophecy"

This leads me nicely to my next point. What is the matrix? The matrix is a digital world made with code. It runs from the machine mainframe. The matrix program (code) is powered by the processes of the machine mainframe (source). This source runs under everything of the machine world. It is the fundemental part of machine awareness.

Notice in the picture how the matrix code appears through light. This light is the source.

One thing to understand is that the Matrix is a big computer program. Before the program codes must be created for everything in the Matrix. Trees, humans, animals, buildings all of that. But there must be growth allowed, a person can not live his life just staying in one spot all the time never growing never getting smarter. Codes and equations have to be created to govern everything, to predict the growth the predict how everything will turn out, before the program can run.

Based on mathematical calculations the Architect has to predict everything that is gonna happen and set up a Matrix based number coding for the program. Example.. John Smith will be born, John Smith will be born in so and so hospital he will start to cry, he wil slowly grow. One his 5th birthday he will have his arm bruised from a fall. John Smith will die at the age of 80. The Architect has to predict all of this in mathematical expressions. It would also have to predict based on all the choices the person has in every situation how it would react to them, and which choice they will make, all of the outcomes have to be written as part of the program, there is not one outcome there are many and the Architect has to express all of these in the coding and account for each outcome before the entire Matrix program runs. Any programer knows this, that to create a program all the outcomes have to be predicted and accounted for in the programming, if not glicthes occur because it wasn't part of the predications written in the programming

Based on where John Smith is born in the Matrix, a lot of predications are created and the best one for how he will react to everything in his life are created by mathematical equations and are part of the Programing of the Matrix. So everything is planned out in the Programming of the Matrix, all the Oracle does is look at these outcomes and tells Neo and the rest what will/can happen. She just kind of gives them a peek at the Flowchart of the programing of the Matrix because it was already set up it has to be. How can a program run if it's functions are static never accounting for what is going to happen next, the set coding has to be dynamic for it to continue running. Think of a flowchart.

The Oracle never says you will do this you have to do this. Because everything runs in programing manner, choices and outcomes, functions. I know this is nowhere near the set up of proper syntax for psuedocoding but it's just an example of what the Oracle can do.

If Neo goes to the Oracle
Then send Smith
if not send agents
end if
If Neo and others go to buidling
Then Neo will go through door
if not Neo will fly on roof
if not Neo will go into a rage and break window
and so on and so on....

Oracle just looks at these outcomes in the programming and tells Neo you will make a choice of either this or that. Because it's part of the coding of the Matrix. Morpheus will get captured by the agents cuz they where meant to catch him, now they have. Now the next part of the flow chart depends on wether you go into save him or not. This is all Oracle tells him. She never says....you're gonna die. You're gonna return to the source. You're gonna realize that you're the One. She just says either or

"Don't worry about the vase". She didn't say you're gonna hit that vase, she just say if and when you do don't worry about it. And would you of still hit it if she didn't say anything, she made a choice in the flow of the programming and created an effect, now it's Neo's turn to react to it. Neo just thinks she can truely see the future, she just reads the preset outcomes of the programming and goes along with it.

you make a cool theory but there are lot of facts which u have ignored. If u could plug all of them into your theories, it would be great.

1. What is the machine world ? (there are lot of instances where "machine world" is referenced, like for e.g. the Oracle and Seraph are PROGRAMS from machine world(M2))

2. Neo sees objects made up of string of japanese characters. In the real world, he sees solid objects and not japanese-character-objects. Moreover, the green codes in the matrix are the equations representing an approximation of a real world object. Neo could cause "fluctuations" in these equations and change their properties.

3. The machine conscious does not take care of every process. You cannot simply equate process and conscious. Its just like in humans. You can move your arms or legs. Some "processes" perform these actions, but u cannot call that a part of "conscious". "Consciousness" is the highest level program. It is that part which THINKS, not ACTS. Consciousness is not responsible for governing the trees and birds. They are governed by seperate programs. (In computer science, a process is defined as a "program in execution")

4. I agree that every program is compiled in the source, but does every program get executed in the source itself ? I think there is a seperate set of machines which perform these.

5. Smith and Neo had exchange of powers. Smith could come to the real world. So Neo could goto ....?

I believe that u can really make a good theory if u read "Simulacra and Simulations", at least read the first part abt the Baudrillard's map.

I'll explain my theory.

There is a seperate matrix. That matrix is the machine-world. It is like a computer network. Its purpose is to integrate all the machines in the real world. It forms the "machine conscious". The machine-world is a simulation in neo-real state ("Basic representation of a reality"). You can find more information on "Simulacra and Simulations". The reason why Neo sees japanes characters in the matrix is because they are an approximation of the real world objects. So Neo can manipulate their shapes etc. In the machine world, Neo sees solid objects because the real world object is EXACTLY represented, not approximated.

Machine-world <===> Mobil Ave (train station) <===> Matrix

Mobil Ave is the secret link between the machine world and the matrix. Its used by the Merovingian to bring unwanted programs (exiles) to the matrix. All the programs are compiled in the machine world. The machines use somewhat a similar link like the trainstation to bring in those programs. (Neo : "I'd say u (Oracle) r a program from the machine world")

Every program is born in the machine world. They are a part of the machine world. They have the orange-code-vision to become a part of this machine-world. The machines dont use cameras and microphones to interact with each other. They "see" each other using this orange-code-vision and interact. Only a program (which is the conscious part of a machine like sentinel etc.) with the orange-code-vision can "see" other programs. All these programs are controlled by the source. The source commands the programs/machines through this orange matrix.

Smith was born in the machine world. He has this orange-code-vision. When Neo and Smith merged, "something (was) overwritten, something (was) copied". That gave Smith the ability to replace Bane's mind with his program. Smith was able to goto the human world (Zion). Similarly Neo had got some of Smiths powers (ie) the orange-code-vision. Neo could sense the machine-world now because he has got this orange-code-vision. Thats how Neo suddenly woke up when Smithed-Bane came to the real world. But his powers in the machine world has not fully evolved and he has not realized this till the end of the M2.

Whenever a person survives a "mind-makes-it-real" death, he has greater degree of control over his mind. Note that the mind is responsible for bending/breaking the rules of the matrix. Consider these

1. Neo had his first mind-makes-it-real death when he took the red-pill. He survived and after that, he attained a new degree of control over his mind. Thats how he exercised his powers in the matrix like jumping 10 ft high and slamming Smith in the ceiling of subway, dodging bullets etc. Note that his mind powers raised from a zero (failing in first jump) to a maximum (dodging bullets)

2. Neo had his second mind-makes-it-real death when he was shot by Smith. He survived that and resurrected. After that he has a greater degree of mind control. Thats how he was able to see the true nature of the matrix world (ie) equations which approximates real world objects like trees,buildings etc. He was able to cause fluctuations in these codes. Note that Neo's power as the One raised from simply flying and stopping bulletes to that of supersonic flying power which could drag every car and truck behind him.

3. Neo realized that he has become a part of the machine-world because of his orange-code-vision. (But Neo still had his eyes, so when he saw Bane, he was simplying seeing Bane and not the Smith behind Bane (or) may be WB flawed in this part !). So Neo was able to sense the incoming sentinels at the end of M2. Neo's power evolved here too. Neo has powers in the machine world equal to that of a program ("though the process has altered your consciousness, you still remain irrevocably human"). Note that the architect has some degree of control over the machines in the machine world (He let the others go, implying that he stopped the squiddies from attacking zion).

So Neo thought he would control the sentinels just like a powerful program. He TOUCHED the source and stopped all the squiddies. Note that the source can control all the sentinels. Neo used the source against itself. The source knew that Neo was'nt a part of the machine-world. So it punished him with another mind-makes-it-real death. But like the other two times, Neo evaded his death again and his mind landed on Mobil Ave accidentally. Mobil-Ave is not in machine's control (an illegal link between the two worlds). So the source was not successful in killing Neo. Now that Neo has survived another mental death, he has greater degree of mind control. It enabled him to control the source to a few extent successfully. He used the source to command the sentinels.

Neo ---> Source ---> Sentinels

Thats how he prematurely triggered those fleet of tow bombs.

I really like the idea of the machine world being another level of reality. How the machines interact with each other through this network the source, being the main overall consious. I will incoorperate this into the Univeral theory that im making. A good quote from matriculated to show how the machines live in their own world is "to a machine, any reality is virtual"

This I agree with fully.

As for Smith entering the real world i think its important to think of the fundemental basis on how the matrix works. People are connected to it. They interact with machine processes and exchange nueral process to digital process inside the matrix. The technology to change neural (analog) processes to digital procesess is already there. (2nd renaissance where the machines are experimenting with the human brain).

All Smith is doing is copying his digital processes into the digital processes in bane, taking him over. When he jacks out that digital consious is changing back into a neural consious. Smiths processes are now running throught the neural highways of Banes Brain.

your idea of the "mind makes it real death" could work in theory, but again, i htink you are going into a much more complicated explination where i feel this is not necissary.

I feel that the explination for Neo failing his first jump and then later after gaining more experience dodging bullets and coming back to life is he is starting to understand his powers. Neo is constantly evolving and the more he believes hes the one the more he starts realising that he has special powers.

At the end of M1, an explination for Neo coming back to life is because he couldn't die. Trinity would fall in love with the one, and since she does, the matrix can't end Neos life because Neo has to be the one because trinity is in love with him. So in effect, it is love which saves Neos life.

The Matrix is different to our world. It is based on equations and predictions for the choices that Humans will make. (as maxis005 enlightened me with).

this is where Neo becomes the Anomaly ("the one" for the sake of the prophecy). The matrix tells Neo that he is dead, yet trinity tells Neo that she is in love with him, and that he has to live becasue es the one. This is a sort or paradox. Somehting that shouldn't be which is. All the matrix can do to get around this problem is bring Neo back to life. Neo is now an glitch in the system. This anomaly gives Neo the power to do whatever he wants, and is "remainder of (that) an anomaly" - as the arciect says.

The mind can not live without the body.

Why is it that Neo can do the things he does in the Matrix? What aspects of him make him so dangerous to the Matrix? I will give you my theory on why he was able to resurect himself after Smith shot him.

Neo has always known that something was wrong with his world. A splinter in his mind. He could not put his finger on it but he knew that it was there. When he discovers it he learns of the real world outside the matrix. Neo is on a journey of self discovery. He is discovering the nature of reality, the meaning of existence and the power of will. These are the things that drive al humans and some have a better grasp of it than others. As Neo begins to grasp these things and understand them his powers grow in the matrix because his grasp on reality grows. His realization that the matrix is not real grows. As the world of the matrix becomes more and more pliable his ability to manipulate that world grows. Every one can do this to some degree but Neo is exceptional at it. He is gaining an expanded and more solid grasp of reality than most. This growth process is facilitated by human emotion and especially, in Neos case, Love.

As Smith shoots him you see that look of surprise on Neos face. He is trying to grasp the fact that he has been shot and weigh it against his knowlegde that it is not real anyway. He struggles with this for a bit. It is Trinity that pushes his grasp of reality to a level beyond others and he is able to pull his mind and his body back together and make the leap of understanding that the Matris is not real. Once this is done he is able to bring himself out of the death thros the Matrix put him in and overcome that belief that he is dying. He has freed his mind and now can perform great feats because of his new found grasp on reality and his commitment to will and his love of Trinity.

I think that you are spot on starbuck. That is the best description of his resurrection i have ever read.

Furthermore what is accualy the anomaly? As the architect says, Neo is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation.

remainder = quantity left over after a deduction

deduction = The process of reasoning in which a conclusion follows necessarily from the stated premises; inference by reasoning from the general to the specific. (dictionary.com)

The matrix system tries to predict what the humans will do in its equations, but sometimes because of Human emotion they mess up for as the arcitect even says..

So Neos life is the accumilation of all these quanities left over after the equation wrongly predcts the outcome of an event, which people make inside the matrix because of emotions. So is the reason the anomaly exists is because of emotion? How does this manifest its self in Neos life. Im guessing from as soon as he was born he had as you said this "grasp on reality " but why him. Also since the architect knows about this anomaly he guides it back to the source. All along he has known that Neo is the one.

Since Neo is harvested, not born, could the machines have grown him in "special soil"?

This can not be true. If it were then why do people leave the matrix. It the humans are just programmed atomatons then there is no need for the choice mechanism and no need for the one.

For example, how can the Oracle predict things that happen outside the Matrix like Trinity falling in love with Neo. The path of the matrix is not predicted and set, only the outcome of the journey. For example If you and I were in a highly interactive complex software game that had a specific objective your path would vary greatly from mine to reach that objective and our life expectancy would vary greatly if our skill level was not up to the challenge of the objective. Some will reach it and some will not. Some will die and some may wander for days before reaching it while others will reach it in hours. There is no way to predict the path someone will take only that they will either reach the objective or die trying.

That is the world of the matrix. The Oracle has a special sight into the background process of this world and she can see someone reaching that objective. In this case lets say its enlightenment on the nature of reality. That knowledge will in turn lead to a path of discovery and an evolution to being "The One". The oracle watches those processes as they flow through the matrix and can guide individuals because of that knowledge. She sees Neo is on that path of enlightenment and she can guide Morpheus to him by what Morpheus perceives as premonitions from the Oracle. In the same right she sees Trinity and watches her fall in love with Neo even though Trinity may not recognize it yet. The Oracle can use this knowledge to also guide Trinity with a preceived premonition.

The architect clearly has this power when he sees the precursors to the onset of an emotion in Neo. He accuratly predicts that Neo will choose the left door because of this knowledge. If he had not said anything it would have seemed as though he could tell the future. It is plain to see that the Oracle has this ability as well.

I Think that is a closer approximation as to how the Oracle does the things she does and the workings of the Matrix.

The Oracle and the Architect are aware of this anomaly and thus designed the matrix to produce and guide this anomaly back to the source for incorporation into the system based on certain possible truths. The parameters of that truth are a profound attachment to the rest of his species and an expanded grasp on reality. This is the basis for the flaw in the matrix. It is emotion that drives us to grow and to be free.

It is a “Possible truth” because not every one will develop the level of commitment or achieve the threshold of reality that “The One” develops. All individuals have a certain level of attachment and commitment to cause. Based on that commitment/attachment each individual can achieve different levels of freedom in the matrix. Trinity is dedicated to Morpheus, Morpheus is dedicated to the Oracle and the Prophesy, Niobi is dedicated to protecting Zion. If M1 you saw Mouse pretty easily defeated. He relied on the weapons of the matrix more than his own faith, commitment and love. It led him to an early death. Neo is dedicated to Trinity to the point that Neo is willing to transcend death to be with her. That level of commitment has caused him to cross a threshold of attachment and attain an expanded grasp of reality and that in turn identifies him as “The One”. Trinity also has that level of attachment to Neo so why is she also not a “One/anomaly”? It’s because Neo not only has that commitment to Trinity but he also has a profound belief in himself and a hold on reality that Trinity does not have. The Oracles sign above the kitchen door is very profound – Know Thy Self. Neo knows and believes. Its that level of love, commitment, grasp of reality and a belief in himself that Identifies Neo as “The One”. The ability to sacrifice anything, the belief that that sacrifice will cause change and the knowledge that you will have the will for that sacrifice are the most dangerous aspects of Neo. It is a set of qualities that is rare but does emerge in each version of the matrix and it threatens the system itself. It is the human incarnation of the matrix’s destabilizing anomaly that is inherent in every conceivable matrix.

this is all good stuff. I like it and i am analising it in more depth cause its pretty deep stuff! ill get back to you on these things later.

But one thing about Neo being the one is why is it him. What would happen if there were more than 1 people who had that same insight to reality that Neo has? there surely couldn't be 2 "ones". The archiect and the oricle gathered all these glitches which accumilated in the matrix because of anomaly caused by emotion (im guessing) and somehow put them into Neo.

This is the part that i dont understand. Why does the one have to exist in the first place? Why is it nessisary to have to return to the source the result of this anomaly.

Neo is the eventuality of an anomaly. what im asking is, is Neos ability to be closely attuned to the matrix world, actually his choice. Since Neos life is "preordainded" by the arciect since he is designed to be the one, is he somehow grown differently to have this extra fine tuning or what.

This is the crunch point. If we can get past this problem most of the riddle is solved. Come on guys think!

Where Neo comes from is a tough question. My personal view on it is that he a result of Godels Incompleteness Threorem.

Godel was a mathematician that was involved in a search for mathematics founding principles from which all mathematical truth could be determined. Instead he stumbled upon a surprising proof that it was impossible to determine this truth by demonstrating what became known as "Godels Incompleteness Theorem"?

Godel was able to demonstrate that any formal system (such as mathematics or the Matrix) is inherently incomplete. He explained that there are truths that exist in a system that are not provable using the rules of the system. An unprovable truth is known as a “Godel Sentence” (G) and all formal systems contain them. In Godels demonstration he was able to show that the truth and certainty of any system was inherently flawed.

This translates directly to the matrix being inherently flawed since it is also a formal system and will contain its own unique (G) – Neo. “The One” is the Godel sentence in every version of the Matrix. G cannot be contained in any system and will eventually lead to a catastrophic system failure.

There is one way to avoid this crash and that is to incorporate a given G into the system itself and making it a part of the system. This will strenghen the system and make it more stable. Of course you have then created a new system that will evolve its own G. This will continue for infinity.

This is what the architect does. Each time the Anomaly emerges (G) he is lead back to the source and incorporated into the Matrix as a new rule. This continues on and on. I think Neo Has had to overcome all upgrades to the system from the previous incorporations of the systems Godel Sentence and as such has reached a state of enlightenment that has allowed him to overcome the endless cycle. Unlike mathematics the Matrix contains humans that are an unstablizing factor. This has allowed Neo/The One to grow in an unpredictable way and has allowed him to break the cycle of the Incompleteness threorem.

Most people are part of the system but there always emerges a Godel Sentence. I think the Oracle watches for this emergence and the rest is self explanatory.

Im still kind of developing this theory so input is welcome.

I think we gotta get it straight that Neo is not the anomaly, he is the eventuality of an anomaly. The anomaly is the randomness of Human emotion, or human nature.

I think we gotta search back to where human life origionates in the matrix. How are Humans grown in the first place. They obviously arn't created in the same way as in our society. They are harvested. They are grown on those tree thingies that we see in m1. they are then extracted and put in there cell which they will spend there whole life. Neo obviously was born in the same way because he has been incapsulated into the system.

Is it really inconceivable that the machines can send whatever they like into the brains of the growing infants, in effect designing how they grow and live. Neo can see the fields when him and trinity fly over them in M3. Neo can see the source. This has to mean that the the machine processes run through the growing infants. In effect they are connected to the source untill the are harvested.

This must mean that machine processes can run through the brains of all the growning babies hooked up to it.

How does the whole people giving birth thing happen inside the matrix? What happened to Neos parents? Obviously people give birth, but how does that work?

Im guessing that Neo was chosen. He was the "chosen" one. The machines chose him to be able to see the world in the way that they see it.

I havent read this thread fully... I'd like to give my thoughts on it though...will reply soon. btw "contingent affirmation" means "a positive declarative statement on a possible occurence". Like for e.g "Dont worry abt that vase";... "then Zion will fall" etc. The Oracle is very positive when she declares her prophecy.

It’s him, “The Anomaly”! He doesn’t say – its an anomaly or its one of the anomalies or even the biggest anomaly! He clearly states that Neo is “THEE ANOMALY”! "Its him" clearly refers to a single person and the anomaly clearly refers to a single anomaly.

“your life is the sum” – Neos life [points on a path] is the sum. this means that everything Neo has experienced and learned is leading up to one conclusion (sum) He is the one - the anomaly.

“of a remainder of an unbalanced equation” –the remainder of the unbalanced equation refers to the anomaly. The Architect can’t balance both sides of the equation because humans are involved in the equation and they are unpredictable so there is no way to balance this equation. Emotion can not equal Logic. These are the two sides. They dont equal so it causes a remainder - an anomaly. Neo is the human incarnation of the remainder.

“Inherent to the programming of the matrix” – now the “essential or necessary” definition of integral applies. It is an essential part of the programming of the matrix to seek out the anomaly and control it as it emerges.

“You are the eventuality of an anomaly” – Here again he is saying POSSIBLE TRUTH [contingent affirmation]. He is also saying the Neo alone is the anomaly.

“A burden assiduously avoided it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a level of control” – He is saying that even though he hopes it will not emerge if it does it is expected and can be controlled by the programming of the matrix.

I dont believe he was chosen. As I said above, the emergence of the anomaly is not wanted but expected. They cant predict where and when it emerges but when it does, the matrix is designed to control it. The design paramaters are in the matrix itself not hidden within a human individual.

I think The machines are trying to understand that emotion because it is begining to emerge in them. Sati is an example of procreation and love that is outlawed in the machine world. The Oracle sees this evolution coming and knows the only way to survive is together. man and machine learning from each other. That is why she chose to help the humans break the cycle of the matrix. She knew it was a matter of time before one would come along with the strength to bring the struggle to an end.

Programs like the Architect on the other hand fight against this evolving emotion. They dont understand it and try to put it in logical terms by incorporating the mind of the one back into the matrix as he emerges. This is his attempt to balance the equastion. He sees Neos mind as so much code to be incorporated into the matrix in an attemt to make it more stable. this in turn causes a more powerful anomaly to emerge which the Architect will again incorporate. The Oracle is just waiting and guiding until the time comes when an anomaly emerges that breaks this pattern. Neo is that one. The Oracle states the Architect can not see past any of his choices. This is because he does not comprehend emotion.

the power is from the source because the matrix is designed to produce the anomalies and guide them to keep the matrix stable. It is designed to self destruct because it will eventually produce and anomaly that will destroy the cycle. the architect and the source cant see this but the Oracle can. I think new programs are emerging all the time that are evolving emotions. A civil war is starting and in order to avoid that the Oracle is hoping that all man and machine will come to realize this evolution and accept it.

And your proof of this is....?

So what you are saying is the Neo is a defective human spit out by a flaw in the Matrix. Why dont they just fix the code then and get rid of the anomaly. Choice in itself is not the problem. It is the evolution of mind that happens after that choice is made. Choice is designed into the matrix with a purpose - to stabilize the system that otherwise could not be stablized with the paramaters of perfection. It is that random event that happens after the choice is made that is the anomaly - Neos expanded grasp on reality after existing in a computer generated dream world all his life is the anomaly created after the choice is made. It is the definition of his existance and his experiences in the matrix that allow him to grow unfettered into "The One" by expanding his grasp on commitment and reality facilitated by love.

The first two matrixes did not have an anomaly because there was no choice. No choice means no freedom and no freedom means never realizing what true reality is. On the other hand people still knew something was wrong but could not wake up from it. This caused them to shut down and entire crops were lost.

The choice is necessary for the stability of the matrix. Unfortunately that choice mechanism built into the matrix by design allows for an anomaly to form after the choice is made. That anomaly is accounted for in the system of control that guides the anomaly back to the source. The anomaly is unwanted but not unexpected and therfore can be dealt with in an orderly manner.

Around the third version of the matrix, the Oracle hit upon a solution, which if implemented, would stop the "mass-rejection" of the matrix by everyone plugged to it. This solution was to let the "unconscious" plugged humans "know" that they had the choice of either staying in the matrix or leaving it. This awareness was at an "unconscious level"--that means, it existed somewhere in their brains in such a way that even their "residual self images" or their "projections" inside the matrix were also not "consciously" aware that they had the choice. (Therefore, at no time would they actually/consciously know that their bodies were in pods and that the matrix even existed). Working in a complex way at a near-unconscious level, the "unconscious knowledge" that choice was theirs resulted in an amazing thing---99% of the crop wanted to stay plugged--in other words, 99% of all the humans did not "reject" the matrix now! (Lots of things like this happen in real life too... ask any psychologist... our memories and thoughts at an unconscious level sometimes shape the conscious and unconscious decisions we make.)

However, the Oracle's solution was not totally perfect... there was a flaw or anomaly... it worked for only 99% people! There was still 1% who wanted to "reject" the matrix (like sometimes some sick people simply reject the medicine given to them... the body does not accept the medicine...)

The Architect terms Neo as the "eventuality" or "consequence" of this very anomaly... So Neo is the "integral" manifestation of the anomaly... in simpler language, Neo IS the anomaly. Or to take this further, Neo IS the ONE manifestation of the anomaly in the Matrix-Oracle implementation that is more powerful than any other manifestation (Trinity, Morpheus, etc.--all those who "rejected" the Matrix) of the anomaly--the ONE anomaly out of so many others--the ONE anomaly--the ONE ;--)

And when the agents point to Neo as "the anomaly," they also identify him as "OK here's the anomaly playing out..."

The anomaly is in the Oracle's solution, and it takes an integral "form" or manifestation in Neo the person, the One...

Here we go. The architect knows all. He created everything inside the matrix. What he says is what we have to believe. I also strongly dont believe that the architect would have lied to Neo in anyway. There is no need to lie to him at that stage.

In a sence he is an anomaly i guess because he can do abnormal things inside the matrix. To the agents this makes sence that he is because to them he is an anomaly, (as to morpheus, "the one").

When at the end of M1 the call tracer program starts, this is just the program which the agents use to track calls. It doesn't have anything to do with the arcitect. The agents are lead to believe that Neo is an anomaly because otherwise, they would just take Neo straight to the source. The agents are Ignorent of the why. They just have a purpose to maintain the matrix and make sure it runs as smooth as possible.


Ok, im gonna go out on a limb here, its kinda different, but go with me, its still in the process and so feel free to dis it as much as you like!

The way in which the matrix works now that the choice factor is added in to it is that over time, because of Human emotion, discrepancies will occur. The arcitect is aware of this left over quantitiy of deduction (reason) in the system and imbeds them into the consiousness of Neo. This is how Neos reasoning within the matrix is different. He has the sight somewhere in his consiousness that allow him to see things in a different light. In a sence, this quantity of wrong machine process inbedded into his brain helps him develop his special relationship to the matrix. The oricle sets it up as a prophecy, getting Morpheus and trinity to find Neo and help him to discover this.

When Neo is supposed to return to the source he is finally giving back this left over energy which will restart the matrix as a glitch free system.

This clearly shows to my mind that the journey Neo has undertaken has resulted in his consciousness being altered. The Architect does not lie as you say, but he says nowhere that Neo was altered in any way by implanting code into him or that a cookie expanded his mind or any thing else like this.

As I said above Neo has gained a grasp on reality that most dont posses and I think that journey is not over when he meets the Architect. This journey is the result of him being in a VR environment for all his life. it is a by product of the Matrix. It does not emerge except in humans that leave the matrix because they are the only ones that can learn the truth of reality. The mind evolves through the struggle to free itself from a simulation. Once that simulation is removed the mind is free to grow and expand. most achieve this to some extent as they are freed but a few dont stop growing and expanding. This is Neo. He is the anomaly with the mind of unlimitless expansion. a forced evolution by the unnatural environment of the matrix. Evolution by its definition is A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. This is facilitated many times by external forces such as a change in environment. The matrix is a pretty big change in the natural environment of humans. This evolution is controled by keeping humans in the matrix and when an anomaly occurs in someone that in not in the Matrix guiding the anomaly back to the source to reintegrate his mind into the matrix and propigate that knowledge (what the Architect calls code you carry) to the rest of the species. It allows for growth and it keeps the matrix stable. Neo does not allow that reintegration and therefore his mind continues to expand to see deeper and deeper into reality. The Oracle has seen this coming where the Architect could not.

I am going to repost something here that I posted in another thread and it has to do with the above explainiation of reality. Im trying to get as much feed back on it as possible so comments are welcome.

This is something I have been toying with and it revolves around Simulara and Simulations. Bear with me a bit.

There are successive phases of any image:

1 It is the reflection of a basic reality.

2 It masks and perverts a basic reality.

3 It masks the absence of a basic reality.

4 It bears no relation to any reality whatever: it is its own pure simulacrum

In the first case, the image is a good appearance: the representation is of the order of sacrament. In the second, it is an evil appearance: of the order of malefice. In the third, it plays at being an appearance: it is of the order of sorcery. In the fourth, it is no longer in the order of appearance at all, but of simulation

Now this is were it gets wierd but follow my reasoning and then let me know what you think. I have stated that I feel the orange code Neo sees is the life force of the machines and that there is sight beyond the physical site we see. What if the world of the matrix is represented by all four of the above Phases of Simulacra. Lets take them in reverse order.

4 It bears no relation to any reality whatever: it is its own pure simulacrum. This is the Matrix itself. The cars and the buildings and the people bear no relation to any reality that exists in the world. It is pure simulation.

3 It masks the absence of a basic reality. This is the green code that Neo sees. It is the mask of basic reality which is the true world of earth where the machines live and zion exists.

2 It masks and perverts a basic reality. This is the real world of earth where the machines live and zion exists. It contains the hovercraft and Neo and Trinity live there. It is the place of the machine city and the scorched sky but it masks true reality.

1 It is the reflection of a basic reality. This is the orange code. It is a reflection of basic reality. It is the actual life force being seen in its true form by Neo.
