You're talking mainly of 'The Futurilogical Congress';
It's a really good book, that fans of this sort of thing would probably
enjoy, written in 1974, I believe, or 1976..
Good stuff. check it out.
Perceived and actual realities. It's been a topic of books, discussion, and philosophy since the beginning.
I don't think, however, that there's any theft involved in any of this.
If ideas we all labeled 'MINE!' there'd be no collective knowledge about anything.
So, in saying that, martha stewart, or whoever, is stealing from Stanislaw Lem, and Lem is stealing from thousands of years of philosophers..
They did the movie, she didn't.
welcome to the real world.

I don't know Sophia Stewart stories , but it's very probably that Wachowski brothers have stolen some ideas from Stanislaw Lem books ( he is a polish writer) . If i get more information about it I will write here. |

After further readings, however, certain questions are raised..
This might not be as absurd as it sounds.
Yes, most of the ideas contained within all the works mentioned
are similar. Yes, many share spiritual and biblical aspects,
however, if the particulars are what is in question,
then perhaps there is another answer.
At the moment, I have no answer.

Hey there!

I have also found many of the ideas within The Matrix trilogy very similar to various of Lem´s works.
Actualy, Stanislaw Lem INVENTED "a virtual cyberspace" (oxymoron in itself) some decades ago.
There is a story about a guy who wakes up, finds out something´s wrong, runs around the city to find out where and who he is, only to find out he´s a computer programm, ergo, an AI in a "matrix".
Another story talks about a spaceship being attacked by a myriad of coordinated, intelligent "insects".
I could go on for hours, but my point is not to prove "Matrix" being a rip-off; now if you´re looking for the source of iWachowskis´ inspiration, yes, you´ll definitly find it in Lem´s work.
